Today's laser project is a mini bird for craft area for a charity event, takes about 1 min a bird and can do 30 on a 300mm by 500mm sheet of 3mm ply, ply costs £1.65 per sheet and I get 50p per model.... But my figuring that's about 90% profit.... Till I add the machine costs, my time etc..... But still nice little earner View attachment 214924

I think that the object is wrong
If I remember correctly wasn't the "integrale" that did compete with the Quattro
The name integrale came later in the storyline
The Lancia 037 Is being the only Rear wheel drive capable to beat the Audi Quattro
After that came the Delta 4WD but wasn't "integrale" yet
Then the monster ... Delta S4

Just a way of getting a bit of interest from Audi and Lancia fans.

The quattro came first.
I remember seeing it and the 037 competing in the 1983 Circuit of Ireland rally.

24* beef & pork meatballs, recipe from Alex French Guy Cooking's book but before I'd watched the video where he deep-flash fries them and cooks through in the oven, I'll do that next time as they're very time consuming to pan fry.

Tesco were out of ciabatta so I had to make do with a sour dough bloomer.

I don't think the balls are gonna last long.

Made a start on the garage frames today, well yesterday technically. Finished one of them this morning, just some red lead to dab on. Making 2 frames, one for the guy nextdoor and one for me. All done with the R-Tech 50 amp plasma cutter and Pro Mig 250.

I was going to stick weld them but either I’ve lost my touch or I have the wrong rods. Just couldn’t get the penetration right. Anyway the MIG just worked, 1.0mm wire, 220 amps and plenty of gas as I was outside. The wind, rain, hail and snow yesterday wasn’t exactly helpful but did give ample opportunities to stick the kettle on.

Made some more pallet shelving, This time for my storage unit. Used a couple of old decking boards on the side supports. Cost me only time & do the job required

Not the plasma, the beams were pre drilled when I got them. The end plates were laser cut including holes, local fab shop place did them from my drawing. But the plasma would have done the same, can’t believe how much more powerful the 50 amp one is over the 30 amp machines.

Did some soldering today. All quite big components (nothing smaller than an 0805 - 2 mm × 1.25 mm) compared to what I'm used to, but I think I've been spoiled using work soldering irons which are a lot better than my one (and I haven't done much soldering in the last 8 years or so).

Two boards populated; I need to do some microcontroller programming now...
