Today (and yesterday) I made a doggy dining table. It took much longer than intended. Eventual results were OK though.

hope you sealed the wood!! not from the dog dribbling on it i was thinking more the blood stains from when you stagger through the kitchen half asleep and kick it!!!!!

The Oil stones from the other day.

Both cleaned up, both wooden cases have a Name of Whitlegate on them. A unusable name, worth a look into.

The lid had a label on it. But it was only the ghost remains from the glue.

Both cleaned up well with brake cleaner and just needed a scrape to true up.

Not today but a while ago I made this illumination system

If the stone is dished, but less than 2mm. Plus the corner edges are square then a scrape is all that is needed.

It was a method I found in an old book.

Take a old wood plane blade. Secure the stone, so when you pull the blade at a shallow the stone can not move.

Make sure the blade is true, holding blade lengthways. Making sure the back edge of the blade is in contact with the stone. drag the blade towards you. Adjust the angle so the blade cuts the small amount of the stone.

It took many many many pass's. It did work.

But not as good as a stone, grinding paste on plate glass.
I think it would be better on a softer stone.

Scraping is not a good method for modern stones, but works well for a softer older stone.

The plate glass one works, as does the paving slab.

But I have plate glass in the play pen. Not a paving slab.

This is a valid point, and I did. I'm making another one for my brother... I may supply some steel toe capped boots with it.

Today I made a little truck for the garden - to cart around a gas cylinder for my weed-killing flamethrower. No mug to hand but it’s 1m x .5m, 260mm tyres.

that's just not nice posting pictures like that I've had to scrape ice off the windscreen the last couple of mornings

I never done the photos ,the owner did and he shared them with me so why not posting a job done almost a year ago

Front axles are 25mm tube welded to a piece of 25 x 3 flat bent in a U, drilled to take a 6mm bolt. Cross tube is 20mm square, as is the rest of the frame. 20mm axle wheels would have been fine too.

Finally managed to finish those sockets recycled from my friend workshop

Those sockets have no money value but my friend is dead so them have a value for me

Thanks Mick, I had been considering using a central bearing to pivot the front wheels, but I think your solution is simpler. Your post caught my attention because I want to use it for carting about a weed sprayer and water cans, etc.

I chose the way I’ve done it as it is a bit more stable than a centre pivot, though just realised the cross piece is 25mm not 20mm as I said before.

Today's laser project is a mini bird for craft area for a charity event, takes about 1 min a bird and can do 30 on a 300mm by 500mm sheet of 3mm ply, ply costs £1.65 per sheet and I get 50p per model.... But my figuring that's about 90% profit.... Till I add the machine costs, my time etc..... But still nice little earner
