I spoke to the local farrier's wife yesterday about getting some [more] shoes, the scrap man had been on Thursday and uplifted their pile.

She said to wait 3 - 4 weeks and they'll have built up more, I'll get them then.

I made this the other day, its a crank rebuilding jig for built up motorcycle cranks.
Its made from a old warco milling machine table, and the V blocks were bandsaw'd out of a old harrison lathe stand, assembled then ground up true in the surface grinder. The keys underneath the vee's fit snugly in the teeslots of the table and keep the plates square, and were made from old blunt carbide lathe tools sawn up and ground to the correct fit. There's two quick releases clamping the two ends, but theyre waiting on teenuts to arrive in the post as for what they cost I decided to just buy some.
Its handy because you need to move the vee's to each web to check each segment then build the crank up progressively. I'm mulling adding tops to the vee supports so they can be used to clamp the crank while its being welded and pinned to make sure it stays straight.

Been asked to make a mount & base for this wind turbine,the mans started an "off grid restaurant " in a field ,he's asked me to mount it on a mast 6m.sshould be fun.said I'd help with installation in exchange for a meal.
He's a pro chef with a good reputation aswell.

Stuff wot I made today...
First time in my life I butt-welded a 2" pipe flange onto a pipe. Just to be awkward, it wasn't the right sized pipe, of course.
Turned out nice, though. I've no doubt it would have failed every quality and pressure test in the book, but it's only to hold a bearing for a mast, so can't go anywhere.

Errr, no, you're okay....2 hours later, we have go faster ones (They're shiny, and red, that's well known to be +20bhp)

Just need to turn up some new washers for the bottom of them later.
