Yes, no probs at all, just make sure it is not the type of threadlock meant for permanent fixings.

Used to do a lot of hauler plates (sheaves) and originally on a manual lathe. It was hot work on the manual as you had to set the compound to the angle and your hands were right in the stream of hot metal and with it being a manual lathe you couldn't really use a flood of coolant.
When I retrofitted the CNC it cut the time to do them by a considerable amount and also meant my hands weren't covered in red blotches
Don't do as many nowadays as a lot of the boats use the pressed steel wear plate covers and once worn they just replace with another set. Some boats however still prefer to use the haulers without the wear plates so I still do a fair amount.
These ones are the mid sized ones being 13" dia, smallest are about 11" and the biggest are about 20".

With the invaluable help of eSCHEn I have been making progress with etching logos onto ali sheet. I tried salt water and a battery, Sodium Persulphate and Ferric Chloride. Some people are selling the Persulphate as "Ferric Chloride" without mentioning that it doesn't contain any at all. Bit of a con on Ebay?
Anyway, my first real try with the Ferric Chloride and a sheet of Ali with a Fablon 'mask' went well. 5 minutes of soaking and scrubbing...
eSCHEn has also done some graphics for me so I can etch some new badges for the radiator.

Again not today, but work in progress
Starboard side view. The finish is not exactly what I wanted bur OK. Have had many experts commenting haw they could do much better.
The stern is quite 'orange peely' but the bow is quite good. We are being badly affected by cold weather and the paint just won't flow. But put more on ant it will slump. Anyway have started on the top sides, painted roof sections with epoxy today, top coat tomorrow, hopefully

Well gents. It does get to 6 and 8 celcius where the job is and at my work shop it has been about 2 a few times. It hasn't been rely cold or windy yet, but it's coming at some stage. We do sometimes get snow on the mountains just to the west from where I am, so for paint it is cold.

To add a bit of variety to my fitness routine, I thought I'd add walking with a weighted rucksack.
There are plenty of ideas in the internet about what to use/how to pack the rucksack; but I thought this idea was neat:
It's just a metal plate. Various weights are available. 10/20/30 lbs.
I have plenty of Olympic sized plates in my home gym, but they'd sit at the bottom of my rucksack. From what I understand, the weight should be kept high on the back. After a bit of looking about to see what I had going spare, I came up with this:
5 layers of 18mm MDF cut to fit the rucksack. The 5kg plates shown sit in a shallow U-shaped groove to stop them rolling out the side.
I had a walk with it this morning. All good apart from the plates rattling a bit. Foam stuffed between them should sort that out.
A bit of sanding still to do to round the edges off.

Yes, I'd considered that too. The bricks get wrapped in Duck tape and bubble wrap to stop them rubbing against the inside of the bag.
I like the plate idea because I know exactly what I'm carrying and it gave me the excuse to make something.
Also, I'm not as tough as a soldier let alone the SAS.
