Got the bracket for the forward roller welded in place and the roller made.

So that was all the outside welding done so the boat was put back in the water. Would have preferred it to stay up the slip a few more days but there was a bigger boat on the cradle in front and it is being put in the water first thing tomorrow so there was no choice

Also had an emergency job, boat had lost its propeller, they were lucky that it happened as they were just coming alongside the pier so at low water they managed to find the prop in the mud. The nut however wass impossible to find so I had to make a new one. Only had a rectangular chunk so pressed it against the 3 Jaw with the tailstock and took light cuts to round it off a bit.

Turned it round and gripped in the chuck and turned down to the max dimensions of the hex.

Bored and tapped it 1inch BSF.

Transferred to the Chiron to make the hex.

Then finally back in the lathe and parted it off.

Presume a frame for the car sitting on so you can remove most parts but still have it mobile?Any idea what this is... the blue frame construction hanging up. I'm just painting it, but when finished it'll sit on the ground with 3 castors. There's a big clue in the background.
Dab of loctite will do it.just need to source some lock washers next to make sure it doesnt come apart while im driving it.
