Knife making cause dependence
I've made one only and I would make someothers for sureYou saying I’m a knife junkie? You could well be right!
I've made one only and I would make someothers for sure
Just need to find the right materials
I've made mine from scrap steel , it's not pretty but it worksI’ve wanted to make one for ages. With the lockdown I had no excuse not to, a lot of spare time on my hands. Made a fixed blade first, then I decided to try make a locking knife. Got most of it done, get rid of the file marks, heat treat, put together, shape and fix scales on. Job done!

Poles are three one meter long thickwalled tubes welded together by myself 25years ago.
The gauze I had back then was only 1.5 meter high, so I decided since I didn't feel like cutting them by handsaw to put them 1.5 meter into the ground.
Now the conifer hedge died so we decided to put a sort of woven plastic foil (?), to the existing fence, but then 1.8meter high.
First I thougth to pull them out of the ground 30 cm, and made a boom on the back of my tractor. Didn't work because the poles are too stuck.
Plan B was to simply weld a piece of the same tubing I still had in stock(!), on top.
Bit of an experiment to weld with a fifty meter extensioncable, so made one to test the procedure.
The welding went smooth and I am happy, but I set a bit of dry grass on fire, what spread really quick in the direction of the trees 2.5 meter away.
Luckily my son was filling up the pool within shouting distance and came with a bucket of water to save me.
Half a minute later the pine would have been on fire and after that the forest next to it, pheww.
Plain stupid off course, lesson learned.
conifers "died"?
How many times did you feed them with diesel, ammonium sulphamate and glyphosphate before that happened?
Today I made a start on modifying an old towing eye for a neighbour.
He has a friend who is getting quite bad with Parkinson's disease and this is to be a pin so that he can easily fit /remove one of these to the drawbar of an old ride-on mower which has been sitting abandoned in a shed for a couple of years when he bought a new replacement.
Tell him not to fill it with anything more than fresh air and dreams then
