Tuesday this was... my plough fell apart for want of a lousy circlip that must have popped off! Started ploughing funny, went to lift her out of work, and broke its back.

Thankfully the pin wasn't too bent, and all i had to fix really were two broken turnbuckles.

Could have ended a lot worse, our 5 fur sheared off the top pin for the turnover ram the other day, went with some bang.

They do look good right enough, we never got on with them though, all jcb at the moment.

Made some mounts for my bodgit rack
Soldered up the new patchbay ready for installation.

Will add more inputs in the future.

Oh theyre good enough machines to drive possibly better than the Jcb's but gave far more issues than the jcb's do, ours are worked fairly hard though.

The cladding guys handed these back yesterday, so on with putting the basket and instruments on 2 of these today, and getting them into place ready for the pipework and pumps.

I looked at Excell rims but they were too expensive for my blood so these are just unbranded ones from eBay. It’s not a race bike or anything like that so they’ll do fine for my budget and requirements.

Those a bicycles hanging in the background. I could never figure out a unicycle.

I never managed wheelies much either. I’m more of a “bouncing off trees and into hedges” sort of cyclist.

My front rim for my Suzuki is polished and laced up now. It still needs a little work truing it up but it was a much quicker job than the first one.

I can take the front wheel off my mountain bike and ride around for as long as you like.
I tried unicycling. I wasn't great. Completely different experience.

I love the manitou JSM joystick, it's more ergonomic than pretty much any of the others on the market and partly why I persuaded Dad to buy one over any other make. Not as smooth in operation as a JCB though, and the transmission is a bit jerky for tiny smooth movements, but it's not a dealbreaker for our use.

Only thing that lets ours down is the starter motor in the mercedes engine, it takes some turning over sometimes... keep meaning to buy the iskra upgrade from ACE engineering but the old one keeps going...
Oh and it uses a LOAD of fuel in the winter, feeding silage out!

Where dad works has a manitou with that joystick and he said it took a bit of getting used to but good when you do get used to it. Ours like a but of fuel as well, although a couple of them do close on 3000 hours a year so they'll need it.

We went from a MF 185 with a muck grab, to the manitou 634-120 with shear grab 2 years ago... used to fill the tiny 185 fuel tank once every 2-3 weeks in winter... similar amount of work means the manitou gets abut 3x the amount in a week and a half but we don't begrudge it, it's faster, easier, the pit face stays cleaner, we feed out into trailers as well as direct-to-face (old fashioned setup) and there's far less waste.

All the emissions they have to meet nowadays, doesn’t do fuel economy any favours
