Yup, it is Ferric Chloride (about £20 per litre but you only need a thimble-full). The mask is cut from an image emailed from eSCHEn to the printers who get it cut on the machine they use to make the stick-on advertising on the side of vans. That stuff is very sticky.

Haven't really made much recently, here's a pair of clamping spacer things from a lathe chuck guard;
The one on the left looks bigger but I can assure you they're absolutely identical
. They go in a hole that intersects another hole with a shaft though it at a right angle, tightening the bolt makes the angled faces clamp the shaft in place. Not sure what the guard is from but they're surprisingly expensive on eBay

Rocker cover from 8mm ali sheet, welded up and trimmed with a router, new brass nuts and spacers plus a chemically engraved badge logo cut in and painted. Phew....finally finished it.
It's an automatic cricket bowling m/c,a customers that's had a gap in producing these,the plate locates the drive motors,attached to wheels that lob the ball,a lot of precision alignment req first,hence the temporary guide bars.
Profile some 8mm plate tomorrow .

Good morning gents, again not today, but work in progress.
These are genset controllers for one of the bigger supermarket chains here. These are for their emergency generators if power fails so they can still trade.
Front plate cut from 3mm alli, cut out on the cnc plasma table, also marked the holes for the mounting screws. Plates were then painted, controllers wired and programmed.
First batch of three, wanted to have the fascia with a dimpled look, however not dimpled enough.
Dosn't seem much, but to cut the wiring to length, fit the wire terminations, push into the plugs, assemble the wire marking, strip and connect took 1.5 days. Any one who does this for a living will appreciate what I say. All I need is somehow to test these to see if they all work as expected

A scriber, I'm still enjoying the novelty of being able to poke around in the scrap bin and actually make something from nothing. Point will get properly sharpened tomorrow.

What did you make the tip from? Just that Tig Tungstens make excellent scribers.

Masonry nails are excellent for dibbing the mark on a tile you're about to drill. It breaks through the glaze and makes it easy. On a tile that's on a wall and grouted in, of course. Doing such on a loose tile often results in tears.Masonry nail.

Rush job this morning, got a call from a local club having some repair work done on the roof, 1950s wooden louvres on the extract outlets rotted away, what can I do in the next 2 hours?.
So knocked these out from a couple of offcuts, they will never be seen unless you are a pigeon (or a burglar), so another happy customer, the green thing behind them is the remains of the old ones

Not so much made, as 're-purposed'.....[I hate that word ].
I discovered on another web place that spent 12-bore cartridge cases can be cut down to make wheel stud covers which fit BMWs, like so......
However, after the first lot corroded through one Winter it became obvious that these are no longer brass [although I think they may still be in 'Murica], I spent some time today preparing the next lot - small things amuse etc..., eh?

I've started making a small bench grinder for sharpening brazed carbide tooling;
Unfortunately I've cut the grooves for the poly vee belt too close, only slightly but enough for it not to stay in place. I think I've also damaged the bearings pressing them in place and I don't have a spare for the front one (It's got a bigger ID than the back so there's a bigger surface for the wheel to mount against).
I also haven't figured how I'm going to mount it either, ideally I'd just weld something up...
