Posted in another thread but fitted the handle today. A bit of carving in the handle and a leather wrap and it's all ready to go out.

When you said shogun lowering and water wall I pictures the weighing scales at the end of the water wall as a shotgun target and the water as a makeshift bullet stop! Thankfully that’s not what you’ve created!

Last couple of days I have been making the raised deck & ramp frame.
Today I painted it.

Tomorrow I plan on fitting the 4 rails on the ramp & then cut / shape the ends. Which will be about all I get done as I have a learner lesson for a couple of hours & the odd car repair to do as well.
Thursday I will be laying the decking boards & if I have time / the paint arrives painting with anti slip resin paint.

I'm always amazed at how you take something that looks crappy, and turn it into something desirable. And it never seems to take you all that long, either... I assume you're retired, to be able to put those sorts of hours in?

Parts ordered during the week, on a works slow point.

Striped Thursday, repairs on Friday evening, paint and more repairs on Saturday.
Small jobs Sunday, assemble Monday and steamed.

A simple balustrade on a stone spiral stair,the treads and wall aren’t level,my steel is though ,
It’s genuine “ye olde”
Cold bent the convex bar on the fly press.Then put a slight twist in it with the stilsons.

@Barking Mat ,from what I’ve seen of your place,it’s very much like the cottages and farmhouses around here that I get to make bespoke work for,why not build a small stone spiral,don’t forget to make it wonky to give you illusions when sober

Well I tried. God knows how it's going to turn out...

40kg plastering sand
10kg cement
5kg hydrated lime
500g black mortar tone powder

A litre of Everbuild Waterproofer in a bucket of water to mix it all up with.

...loads left over...whoops!

A square of 25x25x2.5 galv mesh pushed in with a couple of old M16 resin anchor studs held in with a couple of nuts and plate washers, this just to give a bit of lateral security when it sits atop the hollow brick pillar.

I used an old SDS bit cut down as a vibrator on the sides where the steel strapping is...didn't seem to work that well.

Forgot to grease the copper drip rail insert...
