Was back doing some welding on one of the 6.9 Cheetah Cats I did at the beginning of the year, they have filled in the built in GRP pods and fitted Cheetah made Aluminium pods which will give them another metre of deck space and make the boats 7.9m long, they reckoned they were just too short for the beam.
So I had to weld a plate between the pods, just tacked in this pic, it got fully welded above and below.
Refitted the original table but now it needs to be extended by 1m. Pic of plate fully welded and the original table above it replaced.
Made a start on the extension section of the table, hope to get it fitted tomorrow and supports welded in and hopefully also get the steering altered for the outboards.

When I was out yesterday I kicked out of the ground a old garden hoe.
So cleaned it up, and turned a handle down from a bit of Larch.
The rivets are soft steel bar turned down and using a Ball pein hammer converted into rivets.
As I was bit under the weather last night, I blame Mr John Smith.
I reduced one of my pallets into fire wood. Mini Me used a fair bit the other night when she decided to use a fire extinguisher. So I needed more.
But the wood was some decent hard wood, not sure what it was.
But I can tell you what it is now.
A Pallet Mallet.
Was used to drive the new handle into the hoe.
So I know it works.

Was out and about this morning. One of my local foot paths is known for fly tipping. So worth a look.
Today I was not disappointed.
I missed the chest of drawers, well no I did not miss it I saw it being carried away by 2 local people I now who hunt stuff down better than I.
I did nab the metal industrial work top.
The box, That was kicking round my big work shop, but not really being used.
The work top fitted in width, but not length.
Out with a few power tools and we now have a decent potting table and stowage for flower pots etc. The brown is another lash up of 3 lots of various wood stain I had icing around. None was enough to cover it fully. Oh well mix 3 browns and you get brown.

Got the extension section of table finished and then lifted up onto the boat but the middle of original table was bowed down due to the weight of people standing on the end. It meant the new section was a good bit higher (10mm) which would mean the creels would whack it and soon wreck it when they were sliding along.
Solution to that was to weld on a few bits of angle and clamp them together to draw the sections into alignment, new came down slightly and old came up.
Weld done and angles knocked off with a hammer and welds ground flush where they had been.
Next onto the support legs. Got the 3 aft most ones done, tomorrow will see the other two vertical ones welded in. I will also get the new steering rods made and fitted and the ram base made and welded on and that will be me finished with this one. BTW the aft section of table had to be tilted upwards slightly to allow clearance when the engines are raised.
Next weekend I will probably be on the second Cheetah. It was progressing as I was welding.
Ring deck being glassed on.
