Water table made a huge difference for me on stainless, only the very top of the edge has signs of oxidisation. Keep meaning to weld on a strip at the back of the table so I can fill up a bit more and try submerged cutting.If it’s better on thin stuff (<5mm) which I do most of in stainless it may be worth a shot.
It’s one of those things though, I’d probably try it if I got a used cylinder from somewhere but too much to get a whole cylinder on rental just for a gamble.

Olive oil has been used for reconditioning washed and naturally dried rolling pins & pastry boards for thousands of years though those items did get daily use and cleaning.Probably, but then it's only 25mm, I thought about it.
My objection with cooking oil is it goes bad if it kicks around too long, especially exposed to the air. I've got some mineral oil somewhere, that would work I reckon.

Buy a stainless steel machine see eBay # 325377258807 at £22 ish they are excellent value especially the one that does half a dozen styles including noodles . ( this one is very similar to ours )You might be right, I'll post an update in a few months, or sooner if they're really shish. I make noodles often (and I can't afford the rolling machine I want) so they should see a lot of use.
Stick the form to the base plate of the mould with silicone mastic then when it's set make the rest of the cast .Found a spare couple hours to mess about.

Took me way longer than expected to pour the plaster and may have messed up the timing, but it was still very runny. 3 mixutes to mix, powder to water. 1 min to vacuum. 1 min to pour. 2 mins to vac and release.

Upto this point it was going quite well,but who knew that PLA floats!?!
Saw the cows nose bobbing above the surface. Stuck my fingers to try and position it until started to set. I may have cocked this up!
Theres not much clearance between the print and flask so I wouldnt be suprised if it cracks in a thin place.
I went with the measures for a 4" * 63mm flask, 262ml water, 652g plaster, Id say about right, only a little excess.
I've been using mum's old Imperia pasta machine for years, it works great but I'm wary of buying a new one and finding they've changed the design and they're rubbish now. There's lots of people online who say they've broken pasta machines rolling noodles (I tend to make alkali noodles around 40% hydration, some recipes go as low as 25%, it's a very stiff dough). Is it bronze?I spent my afternoon building up and resculpting a big gouge in a marine pod. Not the simplest thing to weld as I was using long 6mm slithers of the parent material as filler rod but it came out ok.
