I need to get some batteries for the display or a 9v psu
4 pins onlyHuh. I'd say
Huh.
Six pins or 8? If it's six pins then it's probably RJ11, but if it's 8 then it's a mini 8P
Use an arbour or a collet chuck. A standard three point chuck is useless for anything other than light cuts.
It be RJ94 pins only
Are they for the base set on a phone. It be RJ9

Should have some in the van, I'll have a look in the morning.
We used them to connect to low voltage controls on projection screens but yes the little jack on a modem is either RJ 11 (six pole) or RJ9 (four pole)Are they for the base set on a phone.

You can crimp them in a RJ45 crimper the terminal spacing is the same, we had 11 and 9 inserts for the crimping tool, probably got a reel of the correct flat cable somewhere. Ages since I had to use them as all the screens I have seen of late have been 4 pole mini jacks.
The modem ones are 6 pole but the outer two are not populated, if I have some RJ9 connectors I'll photograph them on a ruler tomorrow morning.that plug is too big on my phone I just tried it
ok mate thanksThe modem ones are 6 pole but the outer two are not populated, if I have some RJ9 connectors I'll photograph them on a ruler tomorrow morning.
that would make sense with there only being 4 plugs and a big gap each sideThe modem ones are 6 pole but the outer two are not populated, if I have some RJ9 connectors I'll photograph them on a ruler tomorrow morning.
Damn thats a nice workshop, like that "henry" is looking up and admiring the new mill in one of the pics.

How long are the cables and is there a RJ9 on each end, if so do we know if they are straight through? I know that I had some four way cable, it is not in the van and don't think I will have thrown it out, will have a dig around in the garage later.Looking at your pictures and looking at my picture I think it could be the RJ9 then.

I think Polycom used to use they for the extension desk mics on the spider phones, some where else to look, I may be some time.
Ok I have found two RJ9 to RJ9 pre made cables probably about 1M / 1.5M but can't help with the Micro USB remind me of your address and I will stick the two cables and a couple of RJ 9 connectors in the post for you.
I am thinking your best bet would be to get two micro USB cables and crimp on the RJ9 but you will need the pin outs.
At a pinch you can use a rj45 crimp, the catch will locate the connector in the centre of the crimp and the pin spacing is the same might find that the raised edge of the connector stops the pins pressing it, just take down the edges slightly,Thanks mate PM incoming, I will have to get the multi meter out Scott posted a pic up of the pin outs but I need to check that with a meter. I have the display working off of batteries now could not get it to run off of a DC power source for some reason. Do I need a special tool to crimp the RJ9 connectors? I could always cut the RJ9 off the pre made cables and get some micro usb cables cut the ends off and use bullet connectors in the middle or solder and heat shrink them.
