Picked up a gas heater and bottle, cement mixer, a box of emergency lights that have been taken apart for the power supplies and the lights make good reversing lights for old cars and vans and sometimes spot lights, the final thing was a timber beam 10" x 4" which was in my house years ago and i gave it away when it was 20 feet long and it returned shorter so i jet washed it off and left it to dry.

A feeling of relief that I decided to keep at least one lathe.
One of my synths was bought second hand.
Had an issue with the internal routing as midi wouldn't trigger the filter gate and open the vca. Solved that by patching

Last night when pulling an external source from the delay input I lost sound.

A bit of digging and it turns out the 3.5mm mono sockets are switched. As you plug the jack in it breaks the circuit
In hindsight this is probably what's happened to the first issue.
Time to turn up a few solid 3.5mm jacks to complete the circuit.

In the meantime il keep looking for direct replacements

Today, feeling recovered from the frauhtness of yesterday, I decided to go into the cave to 'finish up a few jobs' which had been abandoned due to a) grasshopper mind and b) always something else needing attention.........you know how it is.

Soon after I'd been out and was going through the thought processes on the first one, the neighbour arrived to get my stories from yesterday. I gave him a truncated version over a cuppa in the cave and shared with him my intention to source off eBay/Gumtree a small, cheap bottle jack to help with adjusting the table height on the Meddings which I need to do occasionally and which is bloody heavy, when having to support/raise it with one hand and loosen/tighten the locking handle at the column. [weakling, me, you see ]

"I've got one of those" says he, "But you'll being using it?" says I. "No, two minutes...." Off he went like a stag and returned with this.. Just perfect for the job Needs a bit of a clean up & possibly a paint - so that's another job.......




We chatted for a while and he left, so I decided to make progress on this


as a cover for this...



I had to tap the corner holes to 4mm and for the first time used the tap in my battery drill...worked a treat.
Got the holes drilled until the last one when....snap!! Bugger. I managed to superglue the corner back on and c/sunk the others to recess the electrical screwheads. I still have to drill vent holes and remove the material inside the cover to fit over the 'sticky out' centre, but another small job pushed on a bit.

Finished now to think about food for tea.....I know already it'll not be up to @Parm's standard though

Helping Parents move today by taking a truck load of stuff they dug out of the loft destined for the tip.
Lots of pictures and photos and junk.
Decided to go through the stuff first to remove any family pictures from frames etc.. My and MrsGs wedding photo amongst them I'm sure they have others .....
But in a box of my Grandfathers stuff was this.

His presentation watch for 25 years service at Bulwark Transport Ltd. Awarded in 1976. All nicely engraved on the rear.
It's nothing flashy but too good for the tip. Gave it a gentle wind and it started. Will probably have to get it serviced once places are open. The strap shows it was well worn, so I plan to as well.

I've to hear about the shipping
The owner decided to give it to me after talking little bit
It's broken , it's cheap , it's almost free
My idea is try to make an enclosure to squeeze the parts together and then use epoxy .
If I fail I will use another power head and keep the magnetic stand

Well, since you 'needed' to know, here you go. An odd mix of haggis, neeps and tatties - supplemented with basmati rice. Looks rubbish but tastes otherwise...... . Followed later by pineapple with cream. Oh, and some Bishops Finger to wash it all down. Don't say I didn't warn you - see what nosiness gets you?
