That's a nice chuck, doesn't look to have hadmuch use

It looks it, but must have been thrown around a bit for mounting in a bigger chuck.. or out of! A few deep marks in the OD.

I miss read the listing of the Pratt Burnerd chuck, thinking both were 200mm but this is 6". Much more sensible size for my lathe, which means I think Im keeping both Did intend to sell one.

A bit of proper old school English engineering. A 10cc glow engine made by Meteor Engineering in Birmingham some time in the 70's. There is very little information about Meteor engines but from what I have been able to gather it was a bit of a shed industry, sand or die cast aluminum and manually machined parts. Found a review in a photocopied piece in sceptre magazine (http://sceptreflight.com/Model Engine Tests/Meteor 60.html )

I'm abso-lutely bloody sure I had a Meteor engine in the late 60s, as part of a control-line setuop. It was a challenge to spin the bugger over and not cut my fingers on the prop.
Wasn't too expensive either, as I recall it was paid from pocket money and paper rounds.

An unexpected bonus. Three new bandsaw blades from the guy I bought the saw from. He only thought there was one in the box. Worth having seeing the blades are 4880mm long

He was lucky, he managed to get the saw, Whitehead Band saw and Planer, he needs some machinery for his building restoration but also wants to build a Shepherds hut whilst waiting for planning , saving up etc.

I'm reasonably certain the little side table is for tenoning, and should have a sliding plate on it.

Or possibly for dowelling/mortising.
But either way, there should be more cast iron bits on it.

It might be worth doing a little research on the machine. I went looking to try to find info. on the side table and there is nothing whatsoever on the 'net concerning woodworking machines made by Edwards. Absolutely everything you find made by them is for metalworking, so you have to wonder why they would add a machine for a different industry to their product line. It is possible that Edwards were the distributor or marketing agent for the machine and that it was manufactured by someone else.
