All's well that ends well. I sent a PayPal payment "to secure the item" and he gave me a ring for me to collect. Nice chap as it turned out and a lovely bit of kit.

A good old fashioned hard start 9" angle grinder. Just need to get some discs and make a pin wrench. Very happy

Just found an a diagram of accessories, and theres a foot thing like on a circular saw bolts into those slotted holes. Never seen an angle grinder with an accessory like that before.

Well after the demise of my bench grinder this weekend I happened to mention it to a neighbour while chewing the cud on Monday night.
Came home from work today and these were waiting for me.
First up a 6" Rexon machine, used but running nice and smooth with both wheels in good nick
Next up a Hilka 6" grinder. Old but brand new and still in its original box and packaging. Has all the guards and tools still in THIER plastic packing. Never been plugged in or taken out of the box
Both machines have 1/2 horse power motors.
One will get fitted with the special green wheels for grinding lathe tooling.
Ive got some nice friends
Came home from work today and these were waiting for me.

Here I sit, almost a happy Vark. Get home from getting a new dressing and a Norbert knocks on my door.
Yes him, the coffee mug killer.
Today he brought me gifts of metal, plastic and wood.
1 garden shredder. But with a new power saving feature.
Switch it on and the lights go out.
1 pin hammer, 2wooden body spoke shaves. 2 more Vices.
I think my Vice-oholic condition is getting worse.
Then he gives me a third.
Help is not needed.
Then a scythe and 3 bill hooks, All covered in old engine oil and dirt. But the edges don’t look to bad.
Then a water heater. It may or may not work. Fingers crossed.
Finally 3 recycling boxes of assorted tools, yet for me to go though. Those I am going to donate to my Local Men in Sheds and they will be used or given to worthwhile local groups.
Were Norbert works, his Boss has taken on a new yard, it is full of shipping containers, wooden sheds and junk.
Norbert is tasked with sorting it out.
But if todays lot is anything could be good hunting grounds.
But I will be donating what I don't want or need to my Local Men In Sheds. They will be reused or donated to local groups who can make use.

The men's sheds look like a good idea, there is one local to me, I have been offered a small Oxford 120a (I think, it's smaller than my 180) when I get round to collecting it I'll see if it works, do you think they would be interested in it?

That heater, there is a thermal cutout in them, might be a resettable one or it'll be a thermal link poked into a hole on the boiler , they melt if it's been run without water to protect the element.
The element can be tested, measure from the spade connector points to earth, it should be clear/high ohms, then measure across the two elements tabs you should get about 25 ohms on a good one.

I now that, but the average Joe calls them scythe.
I had a 44" scythe, I sold it back in the 90's when they were in demand for "Ye Olde Pub" was in fashion.

I got the Cardinal chuck apart thanks to Chris.
I gave it a clean up, it now runs nice and smooth but when fitted to my mill seems to have 0.8mm run out when I measure a milling cutter in it!
The jaws are quite worn out where they grip the drill bit so I think I'll stick it on eBay as spares or repair. Also it's a PITA using it as its a MT1 taper that I then have to fit a MT1 to MT2 adapter on then fit that to the MT3 mill quill!
