We made an hour long video of car bodies passing through one of the paint booths in an effort to find out if the track was maintaining a steady speed, some wag titled it "surging bodies" and put it on the shelf in the office, it went missing a few days later, would have loved to see the look on their faces when it was played

Picked up this pipe bender so I can make a seat sub frame on my bike, it's a nice old Hilmor type with a decent amount of formers and guides.

I paid £60 for it but they do seem to make good money and are never close enough to pick up locally so this I think was a bargain.
Also met a really nice bloke with a selection of barns he was clearing out to restore his Renault 5 turbo.
Jealous? Oh yes!

Had to run out to get some milk early this morning, grabbed dog and left.

Shop was open got the milk, dog was up for a walk. She is a rescue dog we are looking after her to see if she can be happily re homed.

So we took a longer way home, cutting through a short cut I found a skip.

I looked inside, as you do, full of builders rubbish. About to give up and saw this.

Under that board of plaster board I found this tin. I recognised straight away.




My dad had one, I can not lie. holding it brought a lump to my throat.



Home now, with coffee.

The drill and sockets were the best finds.
Those were in there as well.

Saw is rusty, but cuts well. Another saw for scrap wood.

The caulking gun, can not find anything wrong.

There's rarely a skip with no goodies in, you just have to keep rummaging.

I got sick of hunting for pencils, pens or anything to write or mark with in the workshop so today postie brought me 144 quality pencils for 15 quid should keep me going for a couple of days....

It's amazing how those things just seem to disappear off the face of the planet when you turn your back. They'll probably find a skip full of pencils in the shed when I pop my clogs.

For pencil/pen losers everywhere, the 20th Century's single most important innovation is cargo pants. Took a while, but I now automatically put a pen/cil into my lower right pocket when I've finished with it. It's always there for next time. It's accompanied by markers, tyre gauge pencil, etc.
Absolutely guaranteed, if I don't do that, it will be gone, never to be seen again, and there's nobody else in my workshop.
Must be some git comes in in the night.

I loose pencils, scribers and pens.
Put them down and they grew legs.
They disappear faster than I can say. " Your round next"


But for £1 I use this.
A minuet of work and they can not escape.

That's OK but falls at the fist hurdle, if I (and Andy) remembered to put them in a pocket, then there wouldnt be a problem in the first place.



Last yr I couldnt find anything and I mean anything, put it down turn round and it had invisibleised. Stopped taking lairy pain killers and my memory returned, and so did whatever I'd lost

I know what you mean about pain killers and medication. It was only after September when I demanded to have a medication review that my head started swinging back to normal.

Turns out the medication they were giving me was to treat the symptom, not the issue.

But now I can start doing things again, with out losing the plot.

Or pencils.
