Tired of using wall plugs and searching for wood screws which fit sort of but not really I also got a lifetime supply worth from screwfix which includes the silver screws to go with. All screws were at the bottom of the tub FFS! So had to tip it out and mix em up

Do you ever take our the old Formica covered thick ply tops . Where you could cut four 9 inch wide x 30 inch long strips off it ?

Ours was some sort of compressed wood fibres which blew out when wet, they're in the bottom of the skip, been replaced with composite high density (read chuffin' heavy) plastic about 12mm thick.

This was one of the many items getting thrown away at my College today "cos we've been told to as it's nearly April (the next financial year) and we have to budget" Sorry?

Same bullskit when I was doing projects at a government funded facility in the late 1970's. As an example, we would do such things as put in several hundred feet of visual barrier in an aircraft hanger for security reasons, then tear it all out a few weeks later, and build it back up again shortly afterwards. The reason being, that in order to get more money for the next physical year, they had to use up all the monies allocated for the current year. Yeah, wasted taxpayers money; but then again, these make work projects provided gainful employment for many.

Same as the roads service over here, do the bare minimum all year then there's a flurry of road repairs in Feb/March to use up their budget. If they don't they get less money in the next year.

TCT ones such as those use in an SDS with hammer on.
If possible best to drill 90% through and then finish off from the reverse side to avoid blow out.

Diamond cores you use on rotary only, and if they are a biggun its best not to use an SDS as if they catch they can do you some serious damage.
Proper core drills have a clutch to mitigate this.

Sometimes if a dept doesn't spend all it's budget by the end of a year they don't get so much for the next year. Crazy but as far as they are concerned it's not their money. GRRRRR

If that is the standard arbors not the quick release stuff I got roughly the same size range from Screwfix just before the first Covid lockdown .
When they said they had to order the Bosch set in and I could do another 42 mile round trip t to collect it in five days time I was about to walk away and go elsewhere, spotted this unbranded kit on the store front shelf different box lay out and no transparent lid but who cares . All teeth correctly aligned / set and welded well at the seams
A few months later I used the 44 mmm one to cut several holes in 10 mm mild steel plate and a couple of hundred foam inserts afterwards , as far as I can see they are the same gear in different cases made in the same Chinese factory . IIRC mine they cost me £26 ..... almost half of the Bosch named set & so far I think they are just as good .
