Yeah bars should be seapped over and cleaned out regular, I do ours every time I properly sharpen them. also it's a chain and bar, there is no blade...
I have had one for many years its excellent I wish I could find another!Got this at an auction for £3.
It's a Shetack DTC table, in great condition in its original cover. I wasn't exactly sure what it was as I didn't get a chance to see it before the auction but I took a punt anyway. It contains a mine of useful engineering info in a clever & compact dial.
but I took a punt anyway
As good find there.ya can't beat a good skip rummage. ...load of 3/4" ali plate mate pulled from skip for me already used few bits of smaller stuff and gave 1/2 what i got to guy at club.
he is making me some 7" pullies from some of it.
also going to be helping me make gib stribs for my milling machine project and how to use it when built.
medium plates are 7.5" x 16".

whys the cutter bar on upside down . people only do that if the bars worn where it cuts
well if it was mine id turn it once and then bin it as it wouldnt do a new chain any favoursStihl recommend that the cutter bar is inverted each time that you put a new or sharpened chain on to even out the wear
If your oiler is working properly the bar should last a LONG time. My Stihl 023 still has the same bar it had 10 years ago yet has had many new and / or resharpened chains. There are wear indicators on them. Test the oil flow each time you use the saw by pointing at a clean bit of timber - the oil should spray onto it when you rev the machine.
You're right, I don't want them, but I just googled them and you're not having them cheap. What exactly are they for?You don't want those nasty old crimpers, you want to sell them to me.
The AMP Bantam Rota-Tool crimps uninsulated terminals and splices for No. 8 to 1/0 sizes. The correct die position is selected by rotating dies to correct AWG number. Dies are fixed in tool to avoid loss. Compact, rugged and easy to handle. 15" long. Wt. 5 lbs. Not for certified Aircraft use. You're right, I don't want them, but I just googled them and you're not having them cheap. What exactly are they for?
Can wrought iron not be forged?Today I acquired a short pice of rail track that I have been searching to forge some top and bottom forgoing tools out of for my fly press.
A friend of mine dug it up on his farm, but after starting to forge it I realised it was wrought iron and no use for the job I intended.
Now need to think of another use for it .
