Can wrought iron not be forged?

It can, but it's very different from modern steel and requires a different aproatch due to the high amount of slag and other impurities in it.

Portable anvil. I'd quite like a small bit myself for that very thing!

You wouldn't want a wrought iron anvil as its very brittle and also has less carbon content than modern mild steel, so so although it is tough it can't be hardend.

What do you even need them for? The smallest die on them is for 8.5ish mm^2, up to 53.5ish mm^2, could be used on welding leads maybe?

You're right, I don't want them, but I just googled them and you're not having them cheap.

A favour and/or some goodwill is worth far more than trying to make a few extra quid, IMHO. Just saying. Money is a necessity, to a degree, but life doesn't revolve around money.

They are very useful when you need them I have a set that do from 10mm to 120mm hand operated and a massive set of hydraulic one's for real cable!

I've got to do a solar panel and battery bank, 10 -16 sq/mm lugs.

Not worth buying a pair of crimpers.

(Pair going for a tenner on ebay in Frinton on sea collect only.)

10-16mm2 crimper is easy enough to acquire cheap from screwfix...much above that...cembre

I found a set on Amazon for £14 !

6 to 50 sq/mm hex crimp, they look like they are made of pastry metal, but I don't do a lot of crimping.

Those same ones as TLC direct are selling for £20 are £11.39 on eBay.

Today I acquired a massive oiled bushing block thing

A nice lamp for my lathe;

A stainless tray and a cover for it, I think it'll be good for cleaning things in;

Some kind of stainless tube thing, I think it was a filter housing;

A can of compressed air(What gas is in those?), some 16amp plugs, some air filters, an 80,000amp fuse and a mercury switch.

Also an old 3/4"-16 die and wrench and a big box of assorted crimp connectors.

I had a good day today for acquiering things
first up an electric riviter powerd by a big bank of caps just need to make a 500v dc supply to charge them may be tricky its a bit more than rectefied 240 and alot less than rectefied 3 phase. Any idears would be welcom.
Iv had the gate of and its trigerd by 3 volts and theres a nice big ristor to discharge them when not in use.

And later on a frind poped round to give me a faulty swiming costume dryer of all things quickly found the fault knackerd rubber mounts not to shure what il use it for might just fix it and put it on ebay if i can get the parts.
Its one of these could probably make some mounts but wouldnt want to ebay it unless it had the proper mounts in it.

Today I aquired 2x Lincoln Powertec 420C PRO's and 1x Fronius 2700 Alu Edition pulse Mig.
Will post up some pics at some point, nice little haul, shame they came out of a fab shop that has a lot of paint flying around but their shabby initial appearance did allow for some hefty downwards negotiating
