good result for 20 and some fuel, you wouldn't get the motor for that..happy days... :thumbup:

bit of time cleaning her up, and you'll get years of good service out of that, or finish the concrete and resell it.. easily get your money back..

I just need to buy a new trunk and some attachments and I've a nice 'new' Henry for the house. The old one can now take up permanent residence in the workshop.

£12 later he's got a new trunk, some fresh filter bags and a dust brush.

He also came with a friend, in working order.

An Electrolux, which will do nicely for the car.

Got my Henry out of a skip on site, he only needed a new switch but I like a fix before replacement so linked out one of the switch poles that had burnt out and he works really well! Much better than the Dyson thing we have.

Is that mains or rechargeable? If the latter, I had one which I bought for that very reason and it was worse than useless - ended up in the bin....... :mad:

I have 2 Henry cleaners, Both thrown away one had a blown fuse and the other had a blocked hose, They really are good cleaners.

Are they? We've got a Dyson from 2003 but it's dying and we need a new one. I'm not sure Dyson are still making them to the quality they used to, we bought a 'wand' cleaner which has packed up and just blows the dirt around!

Boot sales and eBay are awash with 'Spares or Repair' Dyson's, which kinda tells it's own story.

Our DC05 went about a week after the end of the guarantee. New motor? no says Mr Dyson, that one's obsolete now and our new motor doesn't fit the old casing but we will sell you a new 'replacement' motor and a casing to match.
I'm not giving them another chance to pull that stunt.
Our Rowenta RU11 still going strong after forty years.

Value for money mine are great, free is a good price and they are quiet with good vacuum.

Friends have a Dyson of some sort and had problems with the brush head - he complained and they sent him another which went wrong in short order, he complained and they sent.....you get the idea. Think it went in the skip after brush number four........ :rolleyes:

I was given quiet a few lengths of 12mm thick pine cladding last night and managed to get it on the wall in a bedroom here with a coat of primer, flooring went back down with a slight trim, If only my metal working went as easy..... :dontknow:

Sadly Dysons are no longer made in the UK, we have 2. One I pulled from a skip, useful for small jobs. Like cleaning plaster and brick dust from fire alarms etc.

The other one gathers dust, not bean used for years. It is the 3rd one we were sent as all had gone wrong in the past.

i have 3 dysons 3 dco4 and one dc07 i gave the dco7 away it was crap

dc01 picked up anything they just seamed to get worse over the years not better

pick these models up for about 20.00 nowadays or less

I have an old DC05 I use in the garage, cleans swarf from the mill, lathe, acts an extraction system for for the grinder, cleans the floor and even the car on the odd time the wife uses it. Just fitted a new hose (Henry) after the old one fell in front of the fan heater and melted. I bought it for £10 from EBay years ago

We have a DC08, we used to have a DC05 which was a tank of a machine (sucked up things I thought were lost forever) but my nana bought the DC08 and we did a swap of machines, typical old person buying something massively over-specified for cleaning 4sq meters of barely-dirtied carpet!

Our DC35 has the 'pet hair' electric rotating brush - good for is you want to tangle all the hair around the bristles so that it takes you ten minutes to wind it all out - useless suction power, blows the dirt everywhere. I think a full dismantling is in order...

I have an ancient Dyson. I threw the filter away and use it on my sandblasting cabinet. The cyclone is great for collecting media dust but as a household vacuum it was poor.
