I’ll have to go some time. My grandad was in the FAA as a chief petty officer air fitter through World War Two and then in the Korean War. Must have seen some amazing stuff, but died when I was four

I queued the music, opened a beer and set to work



Cleaned with solvent to de grease and clean of the remains of the superglue.





Make jig, bevelled the edges.
The jig holds it nice and tight.
It was a clean break, very fresh. The super glued still had the classic super glue smell.




Brazed up, that image shows it still in the clamp and cooling down.

One of my favourite things to do on a day out is watch someone take a picture with their shiny new DSLR, then look at the screen with disappointment on their face

Like this taken at Goodwood five years ago, the 1Dx and that lens must have been five or six grand of kit, and he did not look happy.

I took it with a 1Dmk11N and a EF300 f4 L the pair cost me a tenth of what he must have paid.

Got some good stuff today, all hospital scrap, seems like if part of a bed fails they replace the lot!

4 crusty looking heavy castors (2 braked);

4 (Almost new) Tente castors with breaks on either the swivel or the swivel and the wheel (Dread to think what they'd cost new);

4 big column actuators, same as the one I got a few weeks back;

2 smaller actuators and a handful of other crap including a (New looking) Zeiss 10x eyepiece.

You need AC , and a lot more amps.

It's ok for stainless up to about 3mm? And Copper, mild steel.

It'll do about 4mm in arc mode- can't imagine it's got much duty cycle tho?

Be good for me, actually - Tig brazing, bike chain, and the odd but of car panels.

@Richard. Will probably be able to advise better on testing it?

So I saved the 3, plus to 2 in the warehouse.

They are now at a local nursing home who care for disable adults and people with debenture.

Good deeds done dirt cheep.

Going home now to sup ale.

sand down 2 garage doors and a 3foot by 2 foot hole where a rotten tree had to be taken out and some other gardening bits as well I will be going back next week to finsh the garage frames and start the painting all by myself must get a radio
