id keep it 3 phase and look for a vfd for it haveing vairable speed on a linisher is realy usefull

Issue is i dont have 3 phase, so a vfd is no use as I understand they only vary the frequency of the 3 phase output to alter speed, but require 3 phase input. It's a guy I work for that gave me the linisher, he has a static converter I could borrow if I wanted but it's his spare incase one of his two rotarys go pop, so there's a slim chance he'd need it back without warning. Then again I could make a rotary converter easy enough.

You can run[some or all?] three phase in inverters on single phase, Hitachi and Yaskawa inverter instructions tell you about de-rating as the input diodes
and capacitors are not rated for full capacity out with single phase in.

As above, most that you can see for sale are single phase input. Some are three phase input, and some of those are single-phase compatible either by direct wiring or by internal modification, but not all.

An assortment of tools from a workshop clearance, only down side is he wouldn't spit so got a few bits and bobs I don't need, so they will be off to the sales section, its a shame as the bloke set up shop bought the building and tried it part time but its not took of so fortunately he kept the day job, so he is selling his equipment and renting the work shop, recons he will make more in rent than he made working!

all ready built one with a 30kv transformer. Its the 25 amp prymary dc voltage and the big capistor that intrests me about this one just been building a very crude pnumatic isolator so i can see what its capable of im taking every safety mesaure with this. You would get a very nasty shock of that jacobs ladder that fran built but a big capasitor charged up to 10kv wouldnt take prisoners i must admit it dose scare me a bit im not playing with it when im on my own

I'm on my 2nd Humax 500Gb box, just swapped out the last because the picture/sound kept pausing for a second intermittently. Went through all the checks (manual/auto retunes, upgrades etc.) and then Humax offered a replacement. The replacement is doing the same. Telly works fine straight to the antenna, its a Samsung full HD 1080P telly. I changed the Humax output to 1080i and it occurs much less often. We also checked it wasn't 4G interference and all that malaky before we swapped so almost defo the Humax box, and the latest 1080i change proves there's some issue there

There's lots of people with this issue, it will be interesting to see if the BT rebadged humax box does the same. many put it down to too high a signal, we tried attenuators from 1 to 16db, no effect. Or too poor a signal, the boxes own monitor comes back with around 90% strength and 100% quality on the various channels so I think this is spurious and the boxes have an issue.
