My first TIG was one of those.Freshly arrived at Chateau Farside...
BOC Transarc Tradesman DC130.
A mate's boss decided they needed to weld aluminium, so he calls their welding supplier's and they sent round one of those stick welders with a tig torch,
they got a bottle of argon to go with it and tried welding aluminium!
That would have been around 1980 and even though there must have been 10 welders working there it seems no one knew anything about tig
or at least spoke up!
Anyway the welder appeared in my garage complete with the full size can of argon. Funny thing was Gray, sometime later, explained to his boss that they needed ac/dc
for aluminium. So the boss bought another setup, the next set was an Oerlikon DC stick with a torch! Did I get the Olickion as well, take a wild guess...

I was driving along xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and I saw a snap-on spanner in the middle of the road, I was driving along pretty quickly and I
registered it was a snap-on combination spanner!
I reversed back, I didn't even need to get out of the car, I had found a new looking 10mm combination spanner;-)
There is another user on here from Gatwick if it's yours, finders keepers applies mate.
Then 10 year or so on I am driving the same bit of road and I spot a bigger spanner, I thought it was another snap-on combination spanner. But my
eyesight is getting ****ty, it's a Repco 13mm combination, with a broken ring;-) I was very disappointed.

Is this road on the Gatwick flight path, as the spanner might belong to an aviation engineer latterly working on the undercarriage of some jet. If so not sure which is more worrying the fact that the spanner has been left on the aircraft or the fact they are using cheap spanners.......!

No, but i do wonder if the other user from Gatwick is not from just down the road from me, in which case it was from 100 yard from his house!
I haven't really won as I have test driven cars we fixed and seen spanners bouncing along the road in the rear view mirror.
So who fancies Fran then?

I had an intus 3 as my leaving present from work....that was 8 years ago and still not used it yet...lol just been looking for android tablet so I can make use of it but not many about on ebay even though xmas has just been and money is usually tight around now.At last, something worth having

The antenna is in the roof space so little exposure to the elements, no issues with other tellies in the house, even the same TV if direct. I guess the humax could be super sensitive to some noise issue that nothing else is, if so its not that good a box for your average consumer. You see some right spaghetti antenna cabling around

The amp is under the stairs, when I renovated the house I flooded the house with cat5 and coax back to a patch panel under the stairs. I tried attenuating before and afterwards.
Today I acquired a nice large proper grease gun from a mate, not one of those cheap hilka jobbies. It was covered in crud but a quick bath in diesel and its perfect for putting the tracks back on JCB mini-diggers, they always come off in the most inconvenient places usually when its peeing down. In case you wonder why you need a grease gun, on the JCB you tension the tracks by pumping grease into a cylinder that pushes the toothed wheel outwards.
Today I acquired a nice large proper grease gun from a mate, not one of those cheap hilka jobbies. I was thinking of using it as a back up. The torch and wire feed look a bit flimsy, I have a spare euro torch assembly, would it be worth (If it could)converting it.

One of the department's (EBME) where dad works was having a clear out so he grabbed some stuff before the scrap man came (He did have permission BTW).
I got a 22000 RPM motor and variable speed foot switch (Which is quite interesting inside, I'll post more pictures later). There's a label that says "Dermabrasion", so some kind of skin grinder

It wasn't thrown out as biohazardous waste and it didn't come from hematology so it should be safe. There was a much bigger one too, about 3 feet long but it was too heavy for him to put to one side so it got scrapped.
An electrical safety tester:
And an endoscope:
The tip can be remotely maneuvered, should make a really nice boroscope
. It doesn't look like it's ever been used. 
Huge connector on the end, God knows what it plugs into.

A mate of mine has been using those for years now. I think he's on his second or third - he's got literally hundreds of cars through the MOT with them! He really rates them, so the euro conversion should be well worth doing.
