Pom Pom is not a Bofar.

Yes they were both 40mm. But the Pom Pom was normaly a "Quad" mount or a 8 barrel nount on warships. Often called the Chicago piano.

Was a good weapon in the Boar War, but by WW2 it was out of date, hence why the good 40/60 Bofars came into its own, along with the 20mm Oerlikon. Both used by almost all forces in that conflict,

My of bean out of date by the late 1930's but still fun the blat down range a few hundred 2lb bricks in 1989.

Later in WW2 when we had enough ships to hunt efficiency the German submarine fleet the British developed a 2ld SAP for it. IT was called a "U Boat tin opener"

You might be right, I'm just going by (probably inaccurate) useage in various accounts (fiction and non-fiction) of the day.

Couple of Bull Nose Block Planes.
They need a dress with a stone on the blades and a clean.

The RHS side one is a Stanley, no dates or numbers on it. but I haven't taken it to bits yet.

The other one is a:

Sadly not.
One was brought for me for a possible up coming project.

The other was on my weekend shopping list to get.

I was very lucky to find 2, the queen did not even get a chance to blink, I was that fast in swopping paper for metal.

I MAY have one. It was my Granddads, not sure what make it was but possibly a Stanley, was in a wee orange coloured cardboard box. Don't get your hopes up though as I can't recall seeing it for a while and I have moved workshops and houses since I last recall seeing it.

That was one of the reasons I was away this weekend.

The beer, the friend I went to see were the others.

A friend near me won this on a E bay Bid, as it was only 30 miles from my friend it was worth it for me to collect it.

It now works, PAT and cleaned. Just now waiting for my £££££ from my friend.

Picked this out of the metal skip up at the tip this morning, just before the wagon took it away for recycling..

Had a look where I thought it might be but only found an old spokeshave and a Stanley No 9 1/2.
The other half thinks I gave it to a cabinet maker friend along with a few of the other planes I had.
If it turns up though I will give you a shout.

My rabbet plane has facilities to mount the blade on the nose when required jist nice to have one ready to go.

Usefull for planing a smidge off a door lower in place. Standard jack plane is 3inches too long.

Well not today, but last weekend I picked this up.
My old man brought it 30 yrs ago and sold it to a lad I new 25yrs ago.
Said lad phoned me and asked me if I wanted it back!!
Been sat in his front room for the last 15yrs.
I asked him how much, his reply, was thinking of giving it you!!

I would only have been early 20's but hard to think I got my first CBR600 about that time, seems only a few years ago

Edit, it was actually my 3rd one.
