Marples are always good chisels, in my experience.
I'm guessing the blade has been snapped at some point and reground - hence the short blade.
I have a few sets of Marples in various states of use, The stumpy ones are used the most for cleaning up timber or marking out hinges, The modern ones i have don't seem to stay sharp for very long. This site is always an education. I picked this up this morning. Wouldn't have looked twice at it previously.
1/4" and very stubby.
It doesn't mention Record or Irwin on it. Is it a good one?

It's marked with Bofors logo so it must be quite old
Didn't they make guns?
Still do, but divided within Saab and BAE systemsDidn't they make guns?
AA cannons and heavy artillery no less.
Don't forget the "Carl Gustaf" even thou it was outdated as a tank buster it's still used , US Marines is one of them. It's a hell of a good punch in your chest firing one, which I haven't done since 1995 now
Found this vice in a shed yesterday doin carpentry work. They were happy when I offered to relieve them of 20 kg junk.
Seized but looks to be in good shape.
