You can only drive it unladen without a hgv licence. Young lad down south got caught out a few years ago with an 8 leg foden, picked up a car he’d bought and got pulled on the way home, vehicle was classed as carrying goods so he ended up in courtIt sounds like you want it so I say buy it. As long as you don't need to go long distances in a hurry I am sure it will still do the job fine.
If you can cart cars or machinery with it everyone will want you to move stuff.
I think one of my next projects will be a truck, I need something to carry stuff and minis have a bit of a limit there.
That is what I was toldYou can only drive it unladen without a hgv licence. Young lad down south got caught out a few years ago with an 8 leg foden, picked up a car he’d bought and got pulled on the way home, vehicle was classed as carrying goods so he ended up in court
If you want it and can afford it,just buy it.
I have a Unimog as a work/ play truck and I love it. Life is to short.

The obvious way it will earn it's keep is not to use it commercially but by the permanent grin on the owner's face.Fancy buying an AEC matador, please help convince me why I definitely need to buy it, and any ideas how it can earn its keep?
Never too far goneThere is a very rough example where I used to store my caravan. I think it maybe too far gone though.
Have you seen the size of Winchboy? You should try feeding himThey are slow, I drove one as a youngster on an MOD range they are heavy I was 13 stone played a bit of rugby I had to stand on the clutch pedal (remember it is a crash gearbox so each change is 2 presses) and it took all my strength to turn the steering wheel.
might as well get his full licenseIt will be my job to drive it with load on.
Have you seen the cost?might as well get his full license
It would open doors to useable wagons though. The truth is that unless you have a large tract of forest and can warrant an old truck to use as a timber tractor, it isn’t going to earn its keep. You’re limited to relatively local shows unless you know someone with an artic that’s travelling further afield and has space on, and only then if it’s cheap or free.Have you seen the cost?
if he can afford an aec an the running cost the price of a license is nothing.Have you seen the cost?
Sound advice. Something with a twin splitter and PAS means no knackered knees and shoulders.I’m involved in the vintage wagon scene and I’ll tell you now, find an old sed akky or erf and have something with slightly more legs on it for roadwork. It’ll be more enjoyable.
Buy that pack howitzer you been pining for , hitch it up and trundle up and down the high street at 10 mph to pee off the 20 MPH zealots.Fancy buying an AEC matador, please help convince me why I definitely need to buy it, and any ideas how it can earn its keep?
