That's the plan, caliper bracket that floats round the spindle, with a tie rod to the rear fork leg. I just need to sort out the disc itself so I can make the rest to match. I don't think a Harley disc would be man enough for this, I'll get one made the biggest diameter I can squeeze in.Hello, are you looking at Harley Springer forks
there you can see how the brake should be mounted. Harley brake discs are available in 10 and 11.5 inches

Nice door stop. (About all these are good for)This arrived today, it's bigger than it looks, just hope it's worth the effort and cost, plus I need to get the disc made..... just to see if it even works..... I can squeeze a 350mm dia disc in there.
God, why do we do this to ourselves?

I've ground to a halt for now. I can't seem to find out unequivocally if I can run a bike rear tyre on the front. A couple of people on an MSVA trike group say yes, it is allowed, but others say no, it can't be done. I don't want to do all the work and expense to run this wheel if it fails at the first step.Nice door stop. (About all these are good for)
Shame I didn't see this sooner as have a complete setup from a 2001 zx636 a1p sat on the shelf. (Put fresh seals and polished the pistons up and was still cack) so binned them off for the nissins. But they are still sat on the shelf.
Interesting project though and looking forward to seeing more.

Maybe it's the crappy cold weather but I don't feel any urge to go out in the shed at the moment.
After the holidays I'll see if I can find a number to call for a proper MSVA tester. I can't find anything in the web pages about it.
This is a motorcycle rear wheel and tyre. They have rotation and placement markings. If it says 'rear' on it and I put it in the front....I can't see what the problem is, unlike truck tyres all car tyres are rated/suitable for a steering axle
Bob
This is correct. You turn the rear tyre the other way so it stops better. Then you get a dremmel or angle grinder with a flap wheel and gently rub the direction indicator off....This is a motorcycle rear wheel and tyre. They have rotation and placement markings. And I can't find a suitable front tyre to go on the rim.
Total lack of planning on my part.

With the rake on the forks a car tyre would lift up on one edge when turning, which probably wouldn't do the handling any good. Plus, I'm not sure if car tyres fit bike rim profiles properly.Car tyre?
190/50 17"What size is it?
Bloody hell, I spent hours going through tyre pages trying to find something that would fit, not sure where I went wrong. Thanks.

Ive put two trike through MSVA, and a bike. There are lots of “experts” who quite frankly dont have a scooby do, and are still in the just stamp a frame with a reliant number mentality.I've ground to a halt for now. Yes, Sooze, good idea, she has always been pretty clued up on it.Ive put two trike through MSVA, and a bike. There are lots of “experts” who quite frankly dont have a scooby do, and are still in the just stamp a frame with a reliant number mentality.
There used to be a guy on the 100%biker forum who answered msva questions s as he-wrote the book, was really helpful, dare say thats no more now. The other one who will know is Sooze on the Brit Chooper group. She will probably know how to get in touch with him I suspect
