Before you say where's the PPE, when your 84/5 you don't need googles as your eyes are so bad you can't see much anyway, same with the ears for the grinder, oh and fire risk to the leg don't matter much as the right one's made of tin lol

My father died shortly after an accident in the pit, I was seven years old, nearly sixty years ago, now it seems as if he hardly existed; I sense you cherish your dad, you'll be left with many good memories of him when he's gone.

I do, he does my nut in somedays but as I said, life is short... I love life, its a bitch at times but life is not easy, for those who think it is perhaps they had a lucky set of life cards to play, others get such a rough deal, mine to date has been good, but never do I take it for granted, its a shame as I can be a grumpy git on the out side, but inside I am busy loving life, I try to be happy as otherwise I will waste my life being sad, its never easy to be happy on days when life goes bad... You guys and girls are a great bunch, I like to share a few pics etc on the forum

Yep, a lot of folk don't seem to realise this isn't a dress rehearsal.

My dad 'retired' from farming a good few years ago, he's now 82 and never been busier! He now a full time gardener with a large vegetable patch. He was in hospital 2 years ago getting stents in after a heart attack, all he was worried about was how he was going to get his potatoes planted! He's also heavily involved with several voluntary organisations and is away at meetings 2 or 3 nights a week. I hope when and if I get to his age I'm able to do half of what he does!

Turbo, worried about his spuds haha, when my old man had his stroke the staff kept treating him like an "old mam" I said I know he's old but you don't understand, he's not some kind of bloke who sits and eats cake all day drinking tea (that's me haha) he runs a big yard, he is highly active and hates being stuck in here.

You got to love what you do I guess, I think we all share a love for metal work etc, keep on trucking..
