Probably a bit of both, although its outside and not in a particularly dirty area, my customer just likes things to look decent, little touches like this make the overall appearance of the factory look much better than just building functional /agricultural items. Is the turning of the rails 45% for aesthetics or is it to stop chemical residue build up on flat surfaces ?
I'm sure you are right Dave, I said the same to him but he wanted treadplate and that's what he got.Nice work as always Paul. However those tread plates will eat his feet. I’ve recently slept in a top bunk with ally tread plate as the steps, it was very painful
Something a little unusual this morning, a new customer to me that makes tables and other small items of furniture from the kind of thing that most of us would sling in the wood burner,
these will be legs for a glass topped table, and he wanted some stainless steel feet to protect the bottoms, they look round but are anything but, and took a bit of care to get them to be a good fit.
They will have a felt pad stuck on when finished. he's promised me a picture of the finished item in a week or so which I can share here.

Nice. Elephants feet spring to mind!
I'll ask next time we meet,It would be interesting to know what the asking price is for the table.
He does some interesting stuff, I would never have thought of using wood like this, but then I don't have the art gene, it passed me by
In last holidays hotel they had a table made from a sliced trunk from an old olive tree with a glass top on it. Fabulous patterns in the wood.He does some interesting stuff, I would never have thought of using wood like this,
