A few random stainless jobs

Its nearly that daft time of year again, so I thought I'd make the other half something rather than the usual chocolates, an hours work a bit of 1.5mm stainless steel and a rub on the polisher and we have this. a bit too shiny to get a decent photo.

And you say that the art gene has passed you by, I think you sell yourself short, just because most of your work is functional it don't mean that it is not artistic.

Little job knocked out today, convert a top box into a dog carrier for a bike, blue cable ties holding it on are only temporary and will be changed for black ones by the customer.

Yes its nice to do something different, to be honest I'm more interested in doing these kind of jobs than anything else nowadays, after almost 47 years of metalworking for a living the novelty has kind of worn off the day to day stuff.
The dog likes it anyway, the customer has just sent me this.

A couple of stainless brackets knocked out today, they are to mount a small compressor under a truck, the customer will drill them to suit,

They are to replace this

Stainless steel shoes, originally started a couple of years or so ago but the client turned his toes up so I shelved them, came across the bits this week and decided to finish them off, all 16swg stainless,

Not stainless but ally this week, a few of these frames, welder screwed up right on its 200 amp limit to get these welded, warm work and not sorry to see the back of them.

Turn the AC balance more negative Paul and you’ll get more heat into the job and less in the torch. You’ve got plenty of cleaning going on there so you can afford to go more negative on jobs like this where your maxed out.

Yes Richard I know, there is as much electrode neg there as is possible before the arc gets unstable, the reason there is a wide etched zone is down to the preheat / cleaning pass done without filler, torch and tungsten was quite cool considering what I was doing, welded 24 of those fillets before the electrode needed a bit of attention.

All I can say is showbiz related, and thats why its the only part of the job I'm showing, although you never know you might just see it on the telly!

A few stainless barriers finished and delivered today, 100 x 100 box section posts, 12mm base plates, and 50 x 50 rails, this was all second hand material supplied by the customer, looked fit for the scrap when it came in,
Looks a bit different now its had the Paul. treatment though,

And a bit more abuse of the car to get them delivered,
