Today's project.
Pair of blade holders for a scroll saw.

The scrollsaw also has a built in power supply to turn it into a hot wire cutter, so that will be a project for next week.

I think the overhangs will be fine but not so sure abut the 4 holes

Looks fine to me, though no idea of scale. A few things can conspire to make it awkward, but if it doesn't print one way up it may print the other

The holes should be fine but depends on how accurate the groove needs to be. Haven’t done huge amounts of 3d printing but different materials can bridge better than others.

Or you print it upside down so it's not a concern

Hi have both anet A8;and cr10 the cr10 is more expensive but have to say can tell the difference in build quality.

Have given A8 to my son have to say he has managed some first class prints from it

^ it's not the printer, it's what you get out that matters.

A8 is a great for what it is. Not much money and makes useful things.

Won't be replacing mine until it breaks or I need a functionality it can't do (like dual filament dissolvable supports etc)

Last night's overnight job.



Bought this Bosch professional jigsaw for £3 because there's no soleplate, and it's NLA.

An hour on fusion 360 with a set of calipers, and one overnight print later...

As may be obvious from the photos, the last 6mm or so shifted about 20mm back, so I had a little bit of fettling to do.

But: it works!

If you printed it in two parts you could probably retain the tilt. Put a couple of humps with holes for a fence guide too.


However I would use it as is until it doesn't meet your needs.

So an idea I have been musing.

Printing Rechargeable battery adapters. Most of us will have old power tools with no batteries and newer power tools with good batteries. How doable is it I wonder.

For example you could print something to hold your battery and screw the top of the old battery to it to save printing / recycle some connectors

I've done that with an old 18v impact gun, adapted it to take a Makita 18v Lithium.

I'll have to get a picture, I gave it my brother.
It just a usual 3 prong chimney that clips on top of the makita battery, with some divots for the tool clips.

Turned a tired old Clarke impact gun into a bit of a beast
