Screws, they protrude. So I turned them down.

Did you ever have a job that fought you the whole way? This step is certainly one of those jobs. But, it's in now, I'll seal the edge then I'm going to tidy up and stop. Done enough.

The seal for the stove slab is good. Pleased with that.

What are you finishing/cladding the interior walls with?

The current plan is insulated plasterboard for most of it. About 40mm thick all told.

The plasterboard will be sandwiched between the original elm bash panels and the exterior using coach bolts in stainless. That should be good. I might switch that around in places.

Thanks, I'm pleased with it. You're right, though, it's the threshold, it's the first thing you'll see every day, so worth it.

I know you have done an awful lot of work on the whole carriage but that step is just a thing of beauty, amazing amount of detail cast into it for something thats just there to protect the edge!

It's a nice touch, my wife saw it on eBay, so we got it.

The hinge post fits nicely, slightly above the floor, which gives me decent clearance for the door. I'll fill the gap with PU sealant once all locked up.

The only delay is the bolts. I'm getting a bit annoyed at these suppliers that don't track their delivery, their stuff goes missing.

The package of bolts got damaged and sent back, so they're repacking and resending. Fair enough.

I'll not do any more sanding, rather I shall fit the doors and get them right, then remove and make good. Starting Friday.
