To get back on track how would the esab compare to the similar unit from techarc its the only one with hf tig

I had a TecArc Tig, bigger transformer machine with some electronics and I quite liked it, my Plasma is also a TecArc and it seems decent enough and before I bought the R-Tech MTS255S I was thinking of buying the TecArc inverter Mig. Problem was the lack of replies to the two emails I sent asking for a bit of info about it, they seem to be a bit poor in that respect sadly, sometimes you get a reply and others not

Another oft forgotten local brand is New Arc been making pro gear for years dont know about hobby stuff more for industry very helpful made in north east with service branch in aberdeen serving oil industry

Just had a look and seems the two Multi-Process they have are 400 and 500 amp so definitely geared to the heavy end of the market.

Lift TIG set, I'd go with the ESAB over the lincoln despite not having much experience using the Lincoln.
I just really did enjoy using the ESAB, the synergic lines were great and the weld was top notch.

Always go with what your local is serving.
It doesn't matter how good the machines are, if you have a problem it's far far less painful if your support is local

The ESAB Rebel? They've been in Europe for quite some time now and they're between the £1400-£1500 mark

I meant the 235 model

There’s a 255 and 320 model coming now. 4 roll feeder. 15kg spools. Wire inch and gas purge switch.

Certainly one of them, I wouldn’t say the best as there is definitely competition from a few manufacturers but it’s certainly got its good points!

Up to 240 amps from a 16amp socket it’s certainly got a power leap on the competition.

At the mo I'm running a ranger 9 engine drive AC/DC Tig stick 30 volt MIG problem is even tho I have a big workshop it's still bloody noisy so looking for something that I can use in the workshop it's a toss up between the rebel or the thermal arc fabricator 230 or something

Well boys and girls in a few months providing my back heals up and I can return to work been doing extensive research and the two welders I can test locally are
The esab rebel 215
And the jasic 200 models
Or I buy the fabricator from thermal arc with out a demo.
I can demo the first two locally so like as said will look all I need it for is 3mm 3mm lap and tee joints welding skips up and just nice to transport in the car to at some point weld my wife's car up. I'm currently running the above engine drive and a Kempi 180 old transformer type and I keep hitting the thermal cut out

Wellington Welding would be your best bet Bristol way David. I'd have the rebel over the thermal arc purely for the fact that the support network is better for the ESAB stuff than the thermal arc, even though owned by ESAB, the service lot know the ESAB stuff better.

Westcountry Welding are also a good established supplier in the Brizzle area, tap Craig up for a deal on an ex rental machine for extra savings or go new. They have Miller and EWM, not sure about ESAB. Always nice to have an alternative.
