OK. iPad Air 2013. I'll see if I can knock up a design. What will you be mounting it to and in which orientation? The more info you give the better....

Haven't printed anything in a long time now but made this one overnight that kind of fits this category.
A combined phone - coffee mug - water bottle holder for a material train, or tugger as they call them.
It has happened that phones have been dropped and ran over...
Drew this one up together with one of the operators and printed one for test.
Will do 10-20 pieces if they like it
Equipment supplier wanted 200 euros for their holders so this is just one great example of showing ROI to the skeptic's

I decided to finish off the hose fittings for the length I have and then make up my own.
Lamp thing is a brilliant little variable COB light from Poundland! They are amazing.
Go large or go home...
I have these down to circa 18minutes per section, I reckon I can get that down to 15...

I made a mess
Upgraded ? I fitted a silent mainboard as the stepper motors were very noisy. Set it up and 1st print failed miserably.
Took me an hour to clean all the PLA off the hotend
Levelled the bed again and this time I watched it for 10mins to make sure it was on its way ok and then left it to carry on.
Popped back in and the above picture is what greeted me
Not happy as I've been banging prints out for ages with no failures
Double checked the settings again and noticed 'Economy Mode' was enabled
This feature turns off the heated bed after the 1st few layers are printed which means my prints kept coming away from the bed before the job was finished

Currently the am using a microphone cantilever arm
Together with a 3/8 to 1/4 adapter. I could just drill and tap the phone holder to 3/8 or even try altering the STL to 3/8 thread. (But this works and I can still use phone holder on motorised holder.)
In fact it would be stronger with a 3/8 thread direct.

So you could hang it from a top centre mount? Ideally no boss on the back - means a flat print. I'll knock something up, will come in handy for my iPads, though I don't have an iPad Air.

Not sure anyone can help quickly. I am ok plodding . reading tutorials and learning but when I need something quickly and it does not really exist on thingiverse I spend more time messing that doing what I need.
Simply put I need a long handled utiling knife with flat sides. I need two slots in it to accept an 8mm bolt. The actual mounting holes are with the tip touching the bed and approx 45degree angle to the bed, the holes are 50mm from the tip of the blade and 165mm from the tip. (Hole spacing is actually 115mm) The slots with give me a bit of wiggle room to set up.
I found this but its not long enough to print and drill out.
Frustrating part is it comes with Freecad files that I tried to use...Free cad is alien to me .
I tried importing them to fusion 360 but its not got an option.
I don't need the sculpting just a plain flat bar with a blade holder at the end. I could even drill the holes and turn them into slots if I can find a long handled flat blade holder.
This is what I need to attach it to.
Should be fairly obvious but just imagine the bottom of the aluminium rail will be higher to bolt onto the sides I have made out of wood to bolt it in place...hence the distance from bottom bolt to tip is 50mm (at 45 degree angle.)
Anyone able to assist or point me in the right direct please?

If you have windows 10 you can load the STL files into 3d builder for a quick and dirty edit, like lengthening handles and such, has saved me loads of times when i have found a model that suits all but for a small edit needed.
Everything else i have tried to use to edit STL's either hasn't worked properly or is way too complicated to use for me.

OK I see your point..lol As below your dimensions are wrong BUT it still looks like that part is irrelevant and yes the blade would need to be drilled.. SO I will check.Problem with dimensions.

I am currently outside in the shed doing it all manually so replies might be sporadic.. Crucially I can pack the height so as long as the bottom hole/slot missed the blade and the hole spacing was 115 that would work. Biggest problem is I am designing on the fly and until I get something attached to the bearing slider I dont know if it will even cut. It cuts fine by hand BUT I am placing a 275mm square of steel on top of the felt before cutting to size it. Its also assisting to hold it down. I will try and video the process for those interested. Main thing is today my press block works better than I could ever of imagined.
I might ask the mods to split this thread as I dont wish to take it over with my project.

Think you missed his dimensions when you read it.
My dimensions are correct, I think everyone is misreading the drawing.
The 50mm and the 165mm are from the tip to the centre of the respective holes. 165 - 50 = 115.
