Got a bit more stuck in today with help from my mrs

where using this stuff for a light coat on concrete by tommorow it will be white and the stuff is not that expensive either

you can also see the drip edge near the bottem

That looks good. I will be using regular sand and cement as I have it here left over from the shed build last year. Drip edge and angle bead should be ready to collect from wickes in a hour.

Go cracking the last 2 days it's taking a bit more shape now.

id have been getting your roof water tight first main thing to do

cementing up is the second thing to do the finishing off work same with the leading over the uprights there all last jobs to do

the main thing fit your roof sheets and valley is the most important thing to be fitting and getting it finished here

sourthern sheeting have let me down on the box gutter! not happy, but gotta crack on thay said wednesday at the latest

I was suppose to have the box gutter this week!
they blamed the bank holiday... yawn!
any way its bloody raining now cant keep it all out but doing my best,
might start the sheeting tomorrow and leave some loose to slide the box gutter in net week.

if your doing it temporary buy some felt and just felt it along where the box gutter is going

then just put the box gutter straight over it

even shed felt will be enough to do the job your wanting it for

That's a great idea I have nail on and torch on felt in the workshop

just make your valley size wider by 5mm torch on felt you will need it more wider depending on its thickness

make sure you support your valley boards well and a slight slope on it to the release area ( downpipe)

to be honest looking way better so far than what you had in the first place

i am now thinkng I will bring the box butter to exit in front of the new boxed in section but this would mean cutting it up and welding a 90 degree bend onto it. Well worth doing I think, what are your thoughts. Yes it is much better already I think too.

as ive explained already as long as the box gutter goes over the ridge on the corner of the roof sheet you can seal it properly

then you can fit an l shaped piece to cover the piece going off the roof

but all you need to do is cut to the high point and fold the length upwards on the roof roof material

look closer to the right on this pic it goes over 2 high ridges yours will be just one ridge to keep it neat and tidy the box gutter goes over that ridge and drops water off the valley into the metal roofs valley easier to seal up and finishes it off nicely

the ackward part is fitting your roof back wards from the corner you must have the high point of the roof there

to get this effect its easier to fit roof bit at the corner point first

cut it into an L shape and cut it back to the high part on the lowest point fold that lowest point so its stuck up into the air

this means you keep the high ridge and it gives you a good seal to the property wall

fit the valley over the end and wrap it around the corner

this would be your cuts needed in red on a roof sheet

where the red cut single line stops lower part of the roof sheet you fold that roof material up in the air so it fits close to your wall

this is the roofs most important part first piece

check and measure and look to make sure it looks square to the building nothing worse than box profile looking cockeyed when looking at it


after that your sheets near the house can be added on top of this sheet but it also means you can start outwards and finish off the long length if you want while you wait for the box gutter to arrive

I dont see how the box gutter can flow onto the high part.
The water can not flow up hill.

its the same as a lead valley behind a chimney



the roof sheet valley looks like this the red being th top of the roof sheet and lowest point of it

the grey is the lead or tin sheet underneath to create the wrap around seal you need for the corner

the valley sits on top of the roof box profile high point at one end drawn in black you will have to pack the wall side up to level that side
the valley is then bent over at the end so you can seal it over the high point of the box profile roofing sheet

the higher red is your box profile roofing sitting over the other roof profile so it seals over it at the corner

ive drawn where you would cut and fold it up against the wall in red
purple is your valley fold over the top part of the roofing profile one side will be higher nearest the wall

between the red and purple you need a wrap around so you can seal it on the corner

then roof profile fitted



then last of all the lead to cover over the flashing grinded into the joint before peggiung it and repointing the cement
