Batons are on the roof to wet to do any more

i may start the tin roof tomorrow after i fit the wall baton

when I fit the roof I need to do la joints on the length and sides

question is does the shorter roof sheet sit on top/ higher than the longer sheet?

the lower sheet goes under the higher sheet if thats what you mean ? and the side to side overlap depends on prevailing wind generaly, so wind/water cant be blown through/get under the overlap

No sorry I meant my run is 4.5m my sheets are 3.4m where should the 1m sheet go. At the top

at bottem needs support to keep it down

also a good overlap between the sheets i think its 200mm so your 1m is too short as you would need 1.3m including overlap

We always put short sheets of all types of coverings at the top of slopes where there is less surface water running across the head laps

I will clad the walls first and use the off cuts for the roof that should be a perfect length with a good overlap.

I also thought the short section would be better off at the top to because less running water at the top.

some sites say 200 some say 250 and some say 300mm over lap, they also suggest using from 1 to 3 strips of butyle tape to seal them 3 sounds like over kill

Can’t remember the overlap I used but I found the tape a bit of a pain to use and just used butyl sealant instead.

I have already got the tape now so I shall try not to swear at it too much

All the batton is now up and one side is clad. The Mrs taped the joints I suppose now sealant is needed on vertical laps anyway. But we did.

ours is ready for roof tiles to go on now but apex wants building up and wall ties need fastening on
