my latest project a bedford s type known as "the big bedford" 30mph 7 tonner, runs an inline 6 cylinder 4927cc petrol engine producing a mind blowing 110hp @ 3,200rpm
she is a work in progress but does start run and drive just fine, and now stops thanks to a refurbed brake master cylinder.

my Series 3 landrover that was my first restoration project,

and my jcb, a B reg 1984 vintage, still going strong and digging well.

Love those DS’ to think how advanced they were compared to our cars of the ‘50’s and so many built in Slough.
Commer TS 3,I can almost hear the bark of that two stroke,in my childhood,they were regularly bodied as livestock lorries.

The dopey bugas only gave it one carburettor though, they would pop pop untill absolutely hot due to the end cylinders not getting enough fuel.

Modified Chevrolet father in law in the 1940s
Converting big cars to farm use was not unusual, father in law drove a 46 Chevy Feet-master all the time I knew him best FIL you could have, bit scary as he was 6Ft 11inches he was a member of the underground home guard, loved things that went "Bang"

Auxiliary units ? I was always interested in those.

Sadly I'm old enough to remember the Green Goddess first hand from the fireman's strike in the 70's!!! (oh, and sending some of my guys to train on them in the latest strike in 2001/2?)

Probably 1968, me sitting on Dad's 1964 Austin 1100 with his works 1968 Austin JU250 in the background - he was a plant fitter with Home Pressed Piles (used to get laughed at in his sign written van) then with GKN Foundations:

No luck finding pics of his Mk1 Jaguar, Holbay Hunter Austin 1300GT or BSA B32.

The headlamps date the LR to pre May 1950, cutting out the mesh in front of the lamp was done to increase the light output.
