never thought of that one. I do put spirit level on them and level customers mirror and pictures up though

In answer to your question... Na, but only because that is temporary/moveable, anything permanent has to be right or it will do my head in. Actually that's not entirely true, I'm guilty of straighten up beer mats and do put my drink centrally on them...... Oh look here comes the nurse with my medication now
Does using my own spirit level rather than using to builtin one you get with some CU count ?

Nothing wrong with dressing screws.I don't bother leaving the securing screw slots lined up on leccy boxes.
Especially on door handles.
Nothing to do with ocd. Just how I was taught and it looks better.

You missed a question mark, full stop and capital letter in your "corrected" post, then typed an ellipsis with 4 dots.
I never said I got it entirely right, only that my OCD-ness meant I was compelled to improved it somewhat. I actually struggle with spelling/grammar etc as I effectively failed it the first time around at school getting either a "E" or "F" grade ( I forget as it's that long ago ) and only managing a "C" when I re-sat the exam but I do try my best.
I actually had to look up what an "ellipsis" was, I've been using them for years but never knew what it was called or that it is supposed to be only 3 dots, and if Wikipedia can be trusted then I should only put a space after the 3 dots to indicate it's a pause in the sentence rather than being used as an omission, everyday is a school day if you pay attention. In principle, yes. However, I realised that a substantial number of screws I'd lined up were stressed as a result, some probably into the strain zone. I stopped doing it then.

I was told that it's sound engineering practise, particularly in aviation fitting/servicing etc. If they all lined up when fitted, then any which were 'out of line' on inspection had moved/slackened and required attention.
Less critical with your example, of course.

Hopper almost ready to take round to the boat tomorrow for fitting. There was a slight breeze today and the back of my workshop is the worlds worst place for welding with any breeze at all as it seems to come up the side of the building and then just swirl round the whole area so it is almost impossible to put up wind breaks. So far I have used a full roll of wire and probably half a cylinder of Argon.
I will have to dress off a few snotters where the wind was playing havoc but other than that I just have slides for the doors to weld on.
Once fitted to the boat I will then get started on the lifting gantry and then I have to extend the shelter deck and also make a flush hatch for the deck, just hope the half decent weather keeps up.
Anyway a couple of pics.
I had to flip it on its side so that I could get inside to weld down at the bottom.

Me too and I am not a bit OCD.neither do I l
The reason I do it on enclosures is so I know when it has been tampered with that and the fact we once had an invoice not paid because all the screw heads on a 36U rack were not all aligned.

Had one bad payer who argued with us/refused to pay over a small detail he thought wasn't done right, we explained it was fine but he wasn't happy so we offered to redo it at our expense how he wanted it done even though it would be a less reliable that way, after all we are only the experts not him what do we know ? anyway he carried on arguing so eventually the boss said forget it just pay for materials... then several months he came asking for more work to be done and acted surprised when we said we didn't want the job

I was asked to a days work for someone who were bad payers or don't pay. I knew 3 people who refused them and they were desperate to have work done that day .yes I said no probs great when can u start they said . the minute u pay me the 250 quid it will cost u . 
what we pay u to do job 1st yup that's rite .i got the pay and job and it was a doddle I looked in there dustbin and was a stack of red letters and demands for money

Started work on my old 90 the other day, first job today was fitting the new rear crossmember. Rest of the chassis is solid so this one piece sorts out all the chassis rot. Roof and rear body tub removed and rotten rear crossmember chopped off with a thin disc
Ceramic cloth wrapped around the loom in the chassis near the weld zone.
A fair bit of tinkering to get in the right place and square.
.8 wire in the esab @130 amps for the horizontal and overheads,150amps on the downhand
