Hi Dave
No separate thread buddy, I just decided last week I would buy one instead of build one ( if something is worth waiting for.... I want it now ) The company is R Tech Welding here in the UK (support home grown UK companies) as for why ? well I make fire pits for a hobby and up till now I have been farming the plasma work out. This way I can design what I want in the way of "one offs" and keep the price down a bit.

Not metal related, but made this earlier.
A slate coaster.
Tired of using paper towels or offcuts of wood as coasters in the workshop, (I detest ring marks with a passion), so grabbed a suitably sized piece of slate, (I can't resist collecting any bits of slate I come across ), and roughly shaped, and took off any sharp edges, by tapping it on the edge/corner of a cast iron water tank I've got outside the shed. Nowt fancy, but does the job.

One thing about containers, is given enough time they will start letting natural light in, in places. This will increase over time, if left untreated. On the other hand they make great storage places, though again bit toasty in summer and crisp in winter

Always laminate stuff for the garage.Today I made a workshop proof manual for my new welder.
Printed out the pdf, laminated the pages then punched them. Punch has one die missing so only 3 holesWas going to punch the 4th by manually placing the pages in the appropriate position in the punch but decided not to bother for now.
Went to put in a ring binder but thought I would try some cable ties instead and it seems like it is working well.

Last a lifetime then.
Must nag the wife t buy me some more sheets.

You're making me despair.
I picked up a selection of spray polishes & some dusters last week, as the thin layer of dust in the workshop is bugging me now. Going to be having a clean up whilst I attempt to organise. Wot, no 'scale' mug?
Do you prefer a Minions, or a Flash Gordon, scale mug?

Recently I had trouble finding somewhere to clamp the magnetic stand when trying to true up a shaft for taper boring.
it wasn't very secure and the clock made it awkward to get at the chuck.
Having finished the job I was sorting one of my drawers out and came across this...
It was a spacer piece I made 20 odd years ago to adapt a small fixed steady to fit my Boxford. Since then I've acquired the correct steady and passed the other one on.
Bingo, thought I, I'll made a clamp for the bed.
A couple of holes later plus some hacking around on a piece of 2" angle and I ended up with this.
A good solid area to mount the stand and out of the way of the chuck too
