No idea but I really miss skinning up/rolling.
No interest in smoking anything again but there was something satisfying about rolling.

Don’t wanna sound like a kill joy but the idea around my post was to show you something I’d machined. Our vaping and smoking habits can probably be discussed in another thread thus not to take this one way off track.
It’s a quality thread and would be a shame to take it off coarse.

The original ones were simply nuts with the thread taken out and para cord tied in a loop

Did a route in the lakes, and there was a couple setting up to follow after, by the time we walked off the guy had got 3/4 of the way up, bailed and his gear had unzipped top to bottom. Air ambulance job

Last thing I machined was the screw out of this, rear brake adjuster off a Zodiac mk 3 rear axle.
No pics of it in the lathe unfortunately, but I swung it in the four jaw and manageable to carefully drill out the seized in adjustment screw, then run a 3/8” UNF gap through. Came out perfect.
The only replacement I could find was £68 + p&p off eBay, but I found a somewhat similar one with an identical screw, for £5 so that worked out okay.
My aged beastie.

Pulley for the "new" motor on the rapidor, aluminium, 77mm o/d, machined the groove with the compound and my parting tool and my battery gun . 3/16 Keyway cut on the lathe too.
Extension for a cheapo Forstner bit, I've a load of tubular latches to do and it was just a little too short to drill full depth.
Not machining but included none the less, cutting iron clamp from my Woden no4 smoothing plane, broken by some hamfisted moron (me), this was my grandfather's plane so I wanted to repair it. Has come out ok...looks like it may have a hairline stress crack already but I'll see how it lasts.

Was sort of forced to have my first go at machining (and welding) aluminum when I overturned my bead roller while tidying up and smashed the flange of the gearbox.
Made a right mess but it could have been worse as the gearbox broke the fall of the inverter. (I Hope)
I have a AC tig and a lathe so maybe all is not lost.
Nothing ventured and all that so stripped it apart and see what to do.
3 of the 4 M6 tapped mounting holes were flubbered and it was cracked around the oil seal.
Cleaned it up a bit with a burr, read @Richard. beginers guide to welding aliminium on here and gave it a go.
I was hampered somewhat as I didn't have any aliminium tig rods but I did have a bit of 0.8 4043 mig wire so wound it together using a drill and had a reasonable approximation with the added benefit that it's easy to feed.
Not pretty and won't pass any weld test (including a visual) but will see how it goes when I try to machine it.
Put it in the 3 jaw on my Boxford and had a go at machining with my Banggood insert tools.
Worked better when I used a bit of release oil for cutting oil and it would actually cut and not just smear the aluminium.
Nearest thing I have to a mill is my drill press so I used a flat faced burr to open out the flats on the through holes.
Again anything but pretty but there was no way I was going to try free hand shaping with a milling cutter in the drill and needs must.
Drilled and tappet the mounting holes and put it back together again and it all fits and even more remarkably it works.
We will see if it lasts, but it's better than throwing it in the bin.
If it comes to it I could machine a new one out of a billet of aluminium but for now I'll call it done.

From reading on here, I understand that WD-40 works well lubing ali. It certainly worked the time I tried it, but I don't do much with ali [yet] - I get most of my steel from a skip so tend to use that when making things....
