Here is some 6" pipe I did today testing out the new 8" rotator in a clients shop.

Root was done with 1.0mm solid wire on the EWM Phoenix 401 (didn't get a pic of that, I forgot)
Fill/cap was done with the Miller XMT using 1.2mm Oerlikon Fluxofil wire, that runs really nice, so easy to set up.

Oh thats nice! Nice welding too!! Looks spot on, nice to have good gear, I know it don't make people a better welder but it can make a good welder better, and more importantly if it makes life easier then all good.

Had to mod my trolley today so added an inch or so to the migs bottle stand to take Y sized BOC bottles, was typical when I made it in 2012 for the slim rent free gas the following week when I got a new bottle they had upped the size, story of my life haha, anyway its done at last.

My overloaded cart haha, funny you make it one size then overload the hell out of it lol

Been welding the cutting edge and adapators to this bucket today. First big bucket I've done and although not finished I've quite enjoyed doing it. The cutting edge is 1.64 meters long and 50mm thick. I welded an eye on to it so I could lift it onto the bucket with the fork lift as I couldn't even move it let alone pick it up!!!

I just need to flip it over and weld the inside of the cutting edge and multi runs on the adapators tomorrow.

Nice job on the bucket, I've done a few for my old man (helping out), I think tbh it's where I learnt about beads lol, if you can't weld at the start you can by the time you burn off a few box of rods or a roll of wire into a big digger bucket

Does the current flow though the spindle bearings? That can't be a good thing.

I'll be totally honest, ive been welding for since i was 15 but have only really learnt my trade over the past 3-4 years. If I had been given this bucket to do 6-7 years ago there would've been no stringers but probably the biggest weaves you would ever see.

I never say no to a job.....all I do it go home after getting the job and search the web on how to do it.

It's got slip rings and BIG carbon brushes to carry the current from the faceplate.
