Two years I'll never want to see again, found out she never took her meds - and never mentioned it to me until six months after I escaped. She died of Sepsis, because she didn't take her meds, ironically she used to be a nurse, sacked for swapping patients meds for placebo's because she didn't believe meds were good for you. I didn't find out until one of her kids mistakenly contacted me thinking I was her latest victim... If she were alive during the Pandemic, she'd be one of the 5G conspiraloons.....

We blew 6 fuse cabinets along the line once, doors wide open and smoke coming out.
Had installed a new pump on a 130 kw motor with Y- D starter, pump to run ccw. Lab manager didn't let us do the connection to reverse motor, use the electrician so it's being done properly was his words. Well, that numpty only changed on Y (star?) so when it switched to delta, well you know what hapoened next....
Whole building was shaking ad we shut down the whole place

I can well imagine, one of guys broke the stop button off a 22kw 3 phase machine once and to get through the day used the phase reverser switch to stop the motor. Of course one time he went past OFF into opposite phase and blew the 63a MCB apart so violently the front came off the housing

Why did the dummy reverse the phases in the starter? If he had done it at the motor there would have been no problem and it would probably have been quicker.

I think the most impressive I saw was in the foundry, the wet filter extraction fans were 8' diameter driven by a 250hp motor, we were sitting in the workshop after production finished when one of the fans outside started banging, glanced at the ammeters and saw one pegged at 4000amps then dropped to zero. Went out to look at the damage and worked out the fan had gone out balance (probably lost a balance weight) started rocking until it bent it's 6" driveshaft and locked solid which stalled the motor, found the last couple of feet of cable feeding the motor had melted before the overloads went out. I liked being a sparky, we replaced the cables and tested the motor in a couple hours then went home, the fitters were there most of the night craning out the old fan and installing the spare
