Exactly that, apparently that's how they steal cars with keyless ignition, this one would be worth having too, top of the range £60k Audi somethingorother.

I used to have a box made like that in 10 mm bright steel with a tang out the open end and a thick brace across the top of either end. Made so a 75 mm clamshell lock could fit in the tight fitting hole in the tang , internal size about 300 x 250 a 130 deep
It was bolted through the boot floor on to a plate in several cars , studs welded into the underfloor plate, nylock nuts on the inside of the safe under an inch thick foam pad cut to cover the nuts . .. It was originally used as an ammo safe but it also got used for :-

Faraday's cage ...
Two years ago our dog kicked off just as I was stood by the door about to check the door was locked , I flicked the outside floods on …... to find ..... a pair of bricks , one by the gate , the other right by the door with a canvas satchel over his shoulder.. the one by the gate did a runner . The one by the door said, " My mates not feeling well , can you run us home to Llandybie ( three miles away ) ?"
Seeing his mate run I told him to go forth or the dog would be allowed out . He backed off and as soon as he got through gate also ran away , both got into a waiting black car with no number plate light showing that wa about 60 mtrs away down the hill ..
I called the coppers they told me it was likely to be an attempt at stealing either or both our keyless cars. ( They asked me to write down my impressions of the event and some one would come and see me in the morning ..which they did )
Realising the nature of the problem I put the keys in a metal biscuit tin till my eBay order of a small deep key press arrive a few days later .
After the small deep hinged lidded steel key press arrived I took the guts out and screws it through it's back to a shelf using big penny washers as screw seats & after also removing the lock and putting a turned up knob in it's place
Just to make sure the Faraday's cage is good I've also earthed the box & lid out to an earthing point for the central heating boiler .

True ...… but our vehicles are not high range /top spec ones so are not quite so attractive .
It's just that any of the keyless cars are vulnerable to electronic attack . Latest keyless cars have a slightly better set up it's but it's not infallible .. If thieves really want your car they will drag it out your drive & winch it onto a low loader .

@DAPPH Sadly, if they want your car(s) and don't have access to the keys, from reports they're not above breaking in and terrorising or injuring you and/or your family members in order to get the keys.
My supervisor was telling me the company has sent an e-mail to all those who have company cars advising them to leave their keys near the front door to prevent any threats, harm etc. if anyone wants to steal the car.

It matters not, they'd be broken for parts - the sum of which would possibly be greater than the whole.
Very impressive - I do struggle to get welds that clean - there is a tendency for the weld to be a rough black colour, oxidised? Whatever, its rarely that clean and shiny.

keep your tungsten (and torch) closer to weld, move a bit faster, try and utilise a heatsink (alu block?) and if possible try to ensure gas flow round the back by way of purging hose or similar.

A bit of extra work on the gates above, they got me to make the door frames as well, now they can just install them as a unit and build the rest of the fencing around it, the bar at the bottom is temporary and can be twisted out after the posts are bolted down.

Is there a specific reason for using the GRP ? Other than a cost / weight thing ?

Clearing up after finishing the trollies above I had a few short offcuts around, so rather than throw them away made up a small rocket stove just for something to do, took just 30 mins from start to finish, had a test firing just using cardboard and it seems to work really well.
