Looked at all no one seems to supply for an automatic not sure why....
Ok..I am back where I started stripped it all down again and the fault (is me!!) is the CV joint has not gone in far enough to pass the circlip and the joint is just spinning around... So two hours later I can't get the joint to go in and I can't get the joint to come off...even with the new puller !! So I think I need to get the help of a mobile mechanic who should have a lot more experience than me .... swimbo says that's what I should have done in the first place!! (and she's right).
I did know of a trustworthy guy many years ago so I'll see if he's still working....
Thanks everyone for the tips and advice over this ...watch this space for, hopefully, an update .......
Could be the outer joint not far enough on, been there before,
Took me 3 months to fix the abs on my Volvo...gearbox took me a month to sort. Along the way I had to ignore many nay sayers telling me I couldn't do it!Same here.
I might have to have a drink, sleep on it but I always go back for more
Where do you live?Just read what Bert said...think I need a drink

Car in question is an Auto - listing don't make this clear.
Aww that's a shame. Probably worth messaging them to ask if it's different to the auto or if they do one.in item specifics tab says is manual transmission not auto
