With that Farm2000 and a few of these you could probably get a workshop to the point it's too warm to work.

I was going to fit a thermostatic switch to the fan motors, I suppose I could just fit a thermostatic rad valve to the flow and let that do temperature control while keeping the fan running for air movement

Looking at the blurb, you can get controllers to adjust for speed and temperature.

I've got mine linked to a fan controller, which has 3 speeds, that is currently linked to a standard room stat. The bit in the middle of the graph is where I have the stat turned down to avoid condensation, you can see its keeping the workshop between 6 and 7 degrees.

if the boiler heats a tank you can fit a thermostatic valve between the two so you don't cool the boiler down too much, burns much cleaners/more efficiently the hotter it is, and won;t soot/gunk up as much

also gives you a buffer so you can burn a load of stuff one day and have heat the next day

Fag packet calculations have got the 161KW all spoken for Mr Knighty so the boiler in theory should be running flat out.



Gathered up tools, wood,ply,screws and insulation.

Managed to get all the floors finished last week, ramped up the cement content on the readymix. It was ok to walk on the next day but to avoid rucksing it up I put a few gash boards down to work off. Built the dividing wall between the toy shop and the stores.

A bit tricky with the fall off the roof, the purlins to cut around and the box profile angle. All the tops of the sheets had to have a compound angle, hard going for a wood hater

Managed a bit more time in the cave over the weekend, got the wiring in,air lines and water sorted and some more sheets up.

All the leccy stuff is in and working, this bit of the extension is where Mick makes noise and mess so it wont be boarded out or pretty.

Stuffed the outer walls with that horrid fibreglass insulation on rolls. Offcuts of watermain came in handy for holding it back while boarding .

Managed to get the rest of one wall boarded out and the other end wall. Thats twenty five sheets of ply, about 100 lengths of CLS and a thousand screws used up

Just this bit to do now and then into the stores.

Any paintists on here that can recommend some gook to smear into these joints/screw heads prior to painting?

I like to cover vertical gaps/screws like that with something like 1" x 1/2" wood strips nailed with the brads using the air pinner rather than filling them, which always cracks.

More wood ! , was hoping to be pointed at a flexible non shrinking product I could smarm over the joint that could be overpainted.

Acrylic sealant? Good reviews. The baby wipes tip is a must imo.

Got a bit more done today, used up all the offcuts of watermain and was stuck for something to hold back the insulation. Found a tangled mess of bunting so rescued a bit of that and stapled it back

Getting there, looks like that pack of fifty sheets of ply is not going to be enough.
